my mechanic has told me that my sump for my a15 is bent, which is causing an oil leak that i have had for a while. i have also got a spare a12 (datsun 1200), that i know does'nt leak. does anyone know if the sumps are different/swapable or will i need a new a15 sump (if i can still get one?).
p.s the a 15 is from a vannette (c20 or E20) not sure which model.

when i reach for the brakes my pedal gets much closer to the floor and it dosnt pull up very well. if i sit in the car with the engine turned off and pump the brake pedal, the pedal gets hard (lets keep this clean ) and becomes the right height to what i am used to. as soon as i turn the engine on and put my foot on the brake ,the pedal get really close to the floor and it feels kinda spongy. i have checked brake pads and they are good so im thinking its either the nissan sunny master cylindar or booster that might need replacement/rebuild ,maybe? i have toped up my master-cylinder in the last month,so... do different brake fluids react with each other? i have swaped diffs in the last few months but i cant see any thing that could have affected it. any ideas will be very much appreciated as im not sure what i may need to change or do at the moment

i got some time today to to fix agr0, pulled out the old diff, looked at the new one,,, the new diff had stuffed cylindars, shoes, and drums which just swaped over, tail shaft slotted right in just after a good paint,, diff only needed correct washers on lowering blocks to fit, i put the oil in the diff, put the sway bar back on, how ever i needed moonah sprigworks to make custom bolts to bolt diff to under spring (drilled out 120y) . i stuffed up one brakeline so got abs to make one up for me. all i need to do now is wait for my custom bolts, bleed the brakes ,put the bolts on the shockies, reinstall the booster springs and i should be away. so far so good, i dont even think the gear ratio will change (i think standard ratio was 3.9:1 aswell)((no speedo recallibration))

on the subject of wagons, if any locals know of one for sale (2 OR 4 DOOR)((although ive never seen a 2 door and would nearly kill for one, or atleast pay well for one) i would be very interested as my second project fell through even before i could hand over cash (did my research and found it was stollen, thrashed, striped and dumped) ((needless to say somebody (the"owner") is in some s#$t))(but thats another story) soooo... anyone know of any. i would also love to see a pic of a 2 door 1200 wagon

nizmo, the easiest way you may find to get a good diff with disks is to ask the young guy at shannons insurance. he has a friend who rallies/ed a 1200 ute. he said that the ute is going really cheap, the catch is it has been rolled afew times (the bodies stuffed), the diff is modded and shortened pintara diff with disk brakes, so if your lucky you might be able to just get the diff. if not it might be perfect cheap pars donor. ps .how did the datto meet go? i saw a xb ute strewn along the highway near claremont on saturday, hope it wasnt you ,it looked nastie

theres alot of stanzas around but no 1200 utes, they do sometimes go in to the wreckers but are normally sold within aday as a whole ute (highly sort after). errol from datrats as afew (check out links) and hes very good with delivery charges (only cost me $40 to get my gearbox down) not shure what delivery company (he may have records), he (the boss errol)was from tassie as well.also http://www.partslocator.com.au/ also showed a yard in vicoria with one (its a pretty cool site for look ing for stuff in aust actually) www.partsgroup.com is also interesting and of course the www.tradingpost.com is another good place. as for the borg warner i enjoy a challenge (it makes the car more fun to drive at the end)
