H165's came in the 1200 pickup trucks that are plentiful in australia. I'm not sure what else they came in.

This is a great thread. Do you have a roll cage or subframe connectors? Do you still run rear leaf springs? How did you set up the rear suspension?

Good idea. It would make things simpler if there was a part number for forged pistons from a piston manufacturer that has made them for the a-series.

My plan is to take Topear's lead and keep it simple with a draw through SU carburetor system. I've built two Megasquirt EFI systems before but what I love about this idea is the simplicity, keeping the stock fuel pump and all.
After doing some research I've become fascinated with the SU carb. i think its ideal for Turbo because once it is tuned (which is simple to do) it has the fuel mixture very much under control. Lock the dizzy at 25 degrees static advance and you can likely call it a day.
For the manifold i got a head flange from a group buy here and i'm going to make a mani with my mig and some buttwelds.
To start I think I'll use the stock intake, modified along with a BOV from an eclipse.
As for which turbo to use I'm still not sure. the Australians are using turbos from cars we don't have here in the states. I'm thinking a t25 from an eclipse or an ihi rhb5 from a mazda.

The axles in the b310 are too small. I'm pretty sure the h165 has bigger axle splines to suit the AE86 diff carrier.
I'm glad someone updated the tech section with the AE86 diff info.

Hey FinnTuuka, what car does your t25 come from? I can only find them on Mitsubishi eclipses here in the US. I don't know if they have the right size turbine wheels though.

I believe that an early ae86 LSD carrier will work in an H165 pumpkin, not an h150 from a B310. I think a spacer is required for the ring gear. There is an earlier post somewhere suggesting this and I think i confirmed it with some research. It sounds like something pioneered in Japan. H165's were not available in the states, though they came int he ute and seem to be plentiful in Australia. Ae86's are hard to find in AUS, so no one here has tried it that I know of.

I'd like to know how wide it is myself. I think it might be a tad too wide.
I doubt there is anything that bolts into a b310. Both cars have different four link suspension setups don't they?
