Hi guys im after a running sr20det to get my 180sx back on the road. it currently has a s15 motor in it that has spun a big end. so im after a running sr20det for under $1000. all I need is the motor itself no turbo no inlet no pumps or brackets or anything. the only thing I ask is that you know that it is still a good engine. I can pickup from Sydney or 3 hours travel from Bathurst nsw
let me know if you have anything or know of anything. thanks kurt

Hi guys just chasing a 180sx half cut/ panels/ sr turbo with everything. Because ive just bought myself a 180sx rolling shell. Maybe if someone has one left over from a conversion or anything from a 180 that may be of use. Panels, sr20det, gearboxes, ecu, wiring, tail and headlights. If you have anything please let me know.
Thanks kurt

Hey bob
The format of the weekend is a supersprint saturday ie two cars from the dip in conrod st to the start line. Then a mountain straight hillclimb on sunday ie from the hump on mountain st to reid park. Yes there is normally camping at mcphillamy park up the top if arranged prior with the blcc which i can help with that. And the clubrooms are open after the events so yes plenty of drinking can be done. Normally a couple of 1200s turn up, aiden (dat141) grant lidell and myself usually have a good scrap and i may enter my gemini sports sedan aswell depending on funds and try my luck at fastest tin top.
There wont be any info on the blcc website yet but i will let everyone know when the supregs come up.
Thanks kurt

Im with everyone on the too big part, ive got a k03 turbo off an audi a4 1.8 on my 1200 and it makes 11 psi at around 4500 and isnt that laggy so i spose anything is possible. Still it comes back to how much are you going to spend on developing it as too what sort of result you are going to get. It took me 8 hours from getting the idea to having the car running and it goes ok. I even used the standard exhaust manifold and just 180 degreed the pipework and used a cd stromberg carby draw through.

Hi guys just putting an expression of interest for anybody wanting to compete in the bathurst light car club supersprint and hillclimb at the end of november. Maybe we could organise anyone that wants to cruise up here for the day and anyone that wants to compete for the days. The costs for entry are 120 each day and spectating is free. Then maybe cruise the region on saturday night and go out for tea or something like that.
Let me know if you are interested and we will organise something

Cheers kurt

short answer can be done but requires alot of work because you have to lathe down the input shaft to suit the a series crank. not a cheap thing when the input shaft is hardened believe me ive done it with a 63 series dogleg 5 speed. you have to strip the box to get the input shaft out anyway. then there is the bellhousing. completly different, then there is the clutch and clutch hydraulics and pedal completely different ( i had to have a custom clutch made to suit the 63) then the tailshaft and mounts.
but the gear stick is in the right spot :)
basically it would be cheaper to buy an a series 5 speed and im telling you from experience lol
what i did was went to the local wreckers and found a bluebird. stole the whole clutch pedal and hydraulics setup as well at the tailshaft and speedo cable. the grafted that into my 1200 coupe. the tailshaft bolted up to my h165 but realistically it needs shorteningby maybe 15mm.
have a go if you want, it has been done but it isnt a fun job!!!!
