Hey beattie
Yeah its the same lampy
Yep the 1000 bug has bitten
I have this one and i have bought D's VB10

The b10 below is really about the rescue. It was cheap and rotting on a farm and i couldnt let it stay there. Im going to do a simple rebuild and hopefully get rego

D's vb10 is going to be special. A good paint job and tidyup and a good cruize car. Quite similar to yours

does anyone know how to distiguish a a10 gearbox from a late a12 gearbox. im not sure which i have. It came on the a12

Just started working on my b10 the other day. I picked it up from a farm in north west victoria.
It had been sitting in a shed for about 15 years and is complete with a12 4 speed and 50kg of mud! It looks like it has been used as a paddock hack sometime in its life
I dropped the engine and gearbox with the front suspension intact. The body just lifted off
I am planning a full paint strip and rust removal and then a paint in a crisp white

one little trick is to use two standard datsun wheel nuts as the adjusting nuts. They are the same size and thread as the radius rod

definatly keeping the a10 in there

Was thinking of putting new noathelane bushes allround, new balljoints if still available and powdercoating everything black.

The sigma upgrade sounds good but since im not upgrading the engine i would probably rather keep it all stock.
Are brake parts still available for the front, i have heard that they may not be?

i have had a similar problem on my 1600 rally car with twin webers. Engine would run fine for indefinatly with no load (idling) but would starve of fuel when throttle is applied for more than about 30 secs.
Turned out to be a blockage in the fuel line. Try disconnecting the pump and connecting to the line to the tank and blowing down the fuel line from the engine bay with an air compressor.
You should hear a good bubbling sound in the tank if its flowing alright

It's the accelerator pumps in sidedraghts that make them so thirsty. Every time you put your foot down slightly hard a big jet of fuel is squirted down the manifold throat.

cruizing with sidedraughts can be very efficient.
Learning how to drive in traffic without large throttle applictions can also give good efficiency
