Excellent work on the exhaust pipes, Dave. A bit of advice, put a double aluminum heat shield around the master cylinder, it looks real close to the pipes. The fluid may take the heat but I'm not sure about the seals in the cylinder. I would also suggest DOT 4 fluid but you probably use it anyway. It's going to be a honker. I want a ride in it. LOL

Andy, I put 90,000 miles on my A12 turboed before I burned a piston. I used factory fogged pistons with a modified head at 11:1 compression and held it to 7 or 8 pounds boost most of the time. I had modified an SU carb, bolted it to the turbo with a 2" block of teflon and had a water/alcohol/octane booster injector. With more octane booster in, I could get 25 pounds boost from the turbo. I have had the sedan to 138 MPH with XZX 12 inch tires and 3.9 gear. It was a head turner and sounded like an Indy car. IROC Camaro's were a joke beside it.

Most extractors are tuned for a certain RPM level, hence, tuned exhaust. When the motor is running at this level, and when the exhaust reaches the end of the extractor tube, a vacuum is created just behind the pulse and helps to suck out the next pulse. Extractors usually make your engine compartment run hotter also.

Sterlingmac, I tried to put coupe fenders on my sedan and they just would not fit. The coupe fenders were too short to align the bottom bolts by close to an inch. The bottom would not go into place. I do not have access to a sedan right now but from the rocker panel below the crome strip to the top edge of the fender at the door seam measures 26.75 inches. Not sure right now what that is in centimeters. I measuerd over the chrome strip. It would be a bit less without the rocker panel chrome strip. I am sure there will be some people in this club that will measure their fenders on sedans and/or coupes and post the results. This may get interesting. Maybe there are more differences from the American versions of the 1200's to the Australian and UK models other than the dash and right wheel drive.

No they aren't. The front fenders from the sedan are taller than the coupe. The whole coupe body is around two inches shorter than the sedan, Fenders and doors are not interchangable from the coupes to the sedans and visa versa.

Scott, best bet would be go to some recyclers and look at all of the options there and choose the one that seems to fit your needs best. I used a master and booster from a Toyota Celica on a 1200. I had to drill holes in the firewall to mount it and it worked real well. Others would have worked as well or some maybe easier to fit.

My green 1200 sedan had Air Conditioning and it ran well with the stock 1200. Unlike a friend's Volkswagen Rabbit diesel, it would slow fron 60 MPH to 45 when he turned the AC on. What a shit car the Rabbit Diesel was.

Peter, I tried to email you but the email was returned. I need the frame section from the strut towers forward. If you are to cut that front clip away for the tube frame, I will definately buy it from you. If you would, would you send me an email at: mareospeedwagon1@yahoo.com Don't forget the "1" after the mareospeedwagon in the address. A lot of people forget to put that in and some guy in NYC gets the email and he doesn't forward them to me, he deletes them.
