My two sedans had the round plate w/o tach or clock. Same as the three coupes I have had. I have installed Camaro and Sentra tachs, a SUN 10.000 RPM tach and a SUN boost/vacuum in the
plates. I installed them all in tin cans and then installed the cans using angle brackets that I made. I have only seen a couple of factory tachs. Both in Sunnys. I have a good complete dash
if anyone needs one. It even has the original AM radio that still worked when I took it out of the car. I am in Tennessee, USA. I also have a stock 4-speed tranny.

It only means that you have a sedan, not a coupe. Sedans do not have the vents just behind the
doors, coupes do.

I just had a discussion with my parts man about synthetic oils. He said that they were not recommended for motors that don't get fully warmed up for at least 30 minutes each time out.
Synthetics will sludge up the crankcase more that parrafin or petroleum based oils if not used properly. He says most synthetic oil containers have the fully warm up clause on their
labels. He says that they are perfect oils for racing where motors run hotter than most street motors.

Synthetic oils have their purpose. Use them when they warrent it, for sure. For general purpose use, fossil oils are still hard to beat when changed properly. I have a 1980 Ford Fiesta
with 288,000 miles on it and it still doesn't use oil. The oil has always been changed religously.
The car has only had three drivers also. My uncle bought it new and then his son had it for ten years. I have had it four years now and it is a dependable little non-handleing, no frills
econobox. The car has only had WIX filters and 20-50 Castrol used in it. 10-30 oil is for cold climates. Here in Tennessee, I use 20-50 year round. There has been a couple of times that
I have had to push it off to get it started but once it was started, I never have had to worry about it.

My brother raced for a bunch of years. He build a new car and was having overheating problems. I checked everything out and it kept overheating. I told him to change the spark plugs to a
cooler range but he laughed at me. One week, I changed the plugs and didn't tell him. He finished the race in third lace. I asked him if it overheated and he said it ran cool. He learned then
that the incorrect plug can cause overheating.
Two years ago, e friend bought an older RHD GENERAL mail carrier. He lived 85 miles away and when he would drive it to here on the interstate, the thing would overheat. He blew a head gasket
and I raplaced it. When I took the head off, I noticed the plugs were a very hot range and told him that they had caused the overheating. He also laughed. I put in cooler ranged plugs and he
has never overheated since. When all else fails to keep it from overheating during hard use, go to a cooler range spark plug. I love the V-groove NGK's for the Datsun and other cars. They make
a twin spark. I usuall have to order them. Hot range plugs are for low rpm's and constant use. Cool range plugs are for hard, high rpm use.

When all else fails to keep a motor cool under heavy use, go to a cooler
range spark plug.

I saw a NOVA documentary on PBS about lubricants in New York City on taxis. They found that no synthetic or oil additives extended the life of a motor any better than just plain ole
changing the oil at the reccommended intervals. Synthetics are good oil but a costly yuppie thing that is not necessary. All of the hype on it is mostly the companies trying to sell another
product. The only time that a synthetic oil was better is in a motor that is driven on very short trips. They do not get hot enough to evaporate the oil vapors which cause sludge buildups.
The synthetics do not buildup sludge as easily but they still do build up sludge.

This is for you people that post photos. Please size them before you post them. It is too hard to see a car when the picture is so large that you can only see half a door at a time. I have
never seen a 1200 station wagon until I saw the photo section and then, I still haven't seen a station wagon, I only see a section of it. That almost makes it not worth looking at the
picture.

When I dropped a valve seat in the A15, it bent the rod. I didn't know it until I got it running again and it had a little pinging knock. It started getting worse So I took it
out and founr the bent rod. Good luck with it.
