why were the nsr250's restricted? i know they now comply with the power to weight but when they were released it woulda just been under 260cc. how often does it need to be rebuilt and does it just need top-ends or full rebuilds? sorry for all the questions but i'm trying to get as much info as i can. thanks

yeh personally i think the numberplate just looks silly even on hiluxes. it would better if it was parralel to the car and even better if it was where it should be. the blue should look nice on it.

yeh i'm dicing up between 2 stroke or 4 stroke, the powerband would be a lotta fun. in act and nsw the 2 strokes that come under the power weight limit are honda nsr250, yamaha tzr250 and the aprilia rs125. you can get nsr150's but i've heard a lot of stories about these blowing up quite easily. how easy is it to rebuild a nsr250? i'm doing auto at college pulling apart whip snips and mowers easily so i was wondering with a bit more experience i could do my own rebuilds.

i'm getting my moto L's in 3 months and i'm looking at the cbr's as well. only the cbr250rr was officially imported into australia, all the rest are grey imports. apparantly the 1990-1993 models are the best as they have all the new chassis suspension etc but after 93 they were restricted to less power. also look at zxr250's (these are sometimes called zx-2r but all of them that have this written on them have aftermarket stickers) , these have upside down forks etc. and rev to 20,000 but i'm not sure how reliable they are. pm me if you have questions, i've done a bit of research in the 250/learner market looking for bikes myself. lethal_john what aprilia do you have? i could be interested.
