No ddgonzal im not cursing at 5000rpm but it seems Tom does. at 5000 im boosting!

Yes i would say 4200rpm at 110km/h is what ive got. So im looking to reduce that to around 3000rpm if possible,to cruse a little smoother.

From your info L18_B110 (thanks mate) it seems if i go 3.7diff with 60 series tyres i might get very close to the mark.

Also to update you all on Dellow prices for the Celica 5 Speed in Australia its $1200 for the box only (Reconditioned) $700 for the bell housing, then they offer the tail shaft yoke, speedo cable, clutch etc all up total of $2950. After that you need to install and make a gearbox crossmember and have the tailshaft made up and balanced. So by the time its done your well over $3000 easy.

Thanks guys, if I can reduce my revs by 500 to 1000 rpm then ill be happy till the 5speed comes along. To me driving on the freeway at 5000rpm is not cruising. And for long periods of time forget it. ill do a few calcs and see what I get. Cheers, also the tyre profile is a good one, I have 50 series profile now I might try 60 next.

From what I've read. Ill need the shim to use the bluebird diff, but my axles and tailshaft should be fine from the 1980 1200 ute.
Is that correct?

Im after a few tips with crusing speed on the main freeways. I have a 1200 ute with an A14 Turbo that revs its ares off when crusing on the freeway @100km/h. Yes i only have a 4 speed box and i did price a celica 5 speed with Dellow conversion kit. but i dont have a lazy $3000 sitting around at the moment. So i was thinking of changing the diff centre. i have the 4.11 diff at the moment with 15inch rims.

Any suggestions or experiences with this conversion would be great. Ive gone through Wiki and it tells me how to install etc but not what results i would get out of different ratio's

There is a seller on ebay from the USA that sells a set of 4 brand new in packet for $100. a bit rich but $25ea is not bad for a proper cap that will finish off the rims nicely.

Geez 4k is a bit rich, I don't think you would get close to that. Have a look on line. eBay, car sales etc and you will get a better idea.

With out seeing pics we are just guessing but don't expect top dollar with all that work and rego etc.
