I'd love to know too. Where did you have it when they said no? I'm trying to figure out where to mount mine.... or more accurately I'm being lazy and waiting for Mildman to figure it out for me

Hehehe, no worries,
I thought that was simple, it's only about 4 clicks.

.... hmmm, normally I wouldn't touch that on a forum with a 10 foot pole but since we're all honest blokes here at Datsun 1200.....

An easy way,
Get yourself a copy of DVD shrink
Clicky, not sure if it's the latest version though

Run the program, then:
*Open Disc... wait for it to analyse the disc
*Click re-author (top right)
*Drag the chapter you want to take a clip from from the right field into the left
*right click that chapter (on the left) and click "set start/end frames"
*choose the start and end of the clip you want to take, click okay
*Then click the backup! button up the top of the main window.

This will rip it to your hd wherever you tell it to, then you need to convert it to whatever format you want, lots of free programs for that too.

I did this to make a compliation of the best car chases from all the dvds I own, quite enjoyable over a beer or 10.

There are probably far easier ways to do it but that's what's always worked for me, hope it helps.

The sss head has 42mm intake valves whereas the regular has 38.... so a quick check with the verniers can sort that out (as long as no one has swapped valves on you obviously). Cam lift is also different. SSS is 7.00 at the lobe for in/exh whereas standard is 6.65 (10.5 vs 10 at the intake valve).

Hope that helps...

Thanks!
That's just what I was looking for. Off to Bunnings for me tomorrow. I'm a bit hesitant about putting a hole saw through my cabin but meh.

Cheers.

Hey Perthute, are they sealed or ported? Did you put anything in to stop people stealing them out of the tray? I'm putting a sub in at the moment and am trying to port it from the tray into the cabin via a pipe that comes out between the seats. It's in my daily though because I thought my sub would be too loud for my coupe.

Sorry Doyle but hey, free bumps.

Wow,
what are two 12"s like in a ute? I would have though that they would almost shake the poor 1200 to bits.

Whilst on my way to Melbourne tonight I was waiting at the lights and saw across from me a really nice light blue 1000 ute with heaps of rake. It looked really well looked after and I am wondering if it belongs to anyone on the forum?

Would be good to know that the Datsun population of Geelong is slowly increasing

Hmmmm,
I don't know whether to respect the workmanship involved in that Z...... or scream and bang my head on the table for wasting a good 240!?!?!

I prefer Dat383's method of running 9s though, a tastier 1200, everything under the bonnet, and no blower. When that 240 guy turns his boost up though he better be careful, he might make 1.21 rear wheel Gigawatts and go back to the 50s.
