I dont know if its round or oval. Is there a way of telling without taking the manifold off?
And its for an A14.

As the title mentions I'm looking for a standard inlet manifold because mine has a very small crack in it.
Also if someone was selling a better than stock carbie that fell in my price range I might be interested as well.
I'm on the Sunshine Coast in QLD by the way.

Thanks. I'll check the article.
The dying giraffe sounds to me like a valve opens in the carbie and the engine noise totally changes. Depending on how the engines running sometimes the engine just sounds different or it can sound really loud and really #### but theres a deffinite spot around 4100/4200rpm where something opens up and the engine just goes differently. If it happens in your engine you'd know what I'm talking about.

Oh and 14a's redline at 6500rpm don't they?
Mine seems to get its power between 3000 & 5000 rpm so thats usually where I keep it when I'm driving hard but its always nice to be sure you're to over reving the engine.

It seems like I'm asking a new question everyday on here but anyway...
I've got a 120Y with a 14a inside. Last night I took it for a drive thru the hills and there were two things I really noticed.
1. When the engine hits about 4200rpm a valve or something must open and the engine suddenly sounds like a really loud dying baby girrafe. Is this normal? And if it is is there anyway to make it a bit less loud/shit sounding?
2. I was getting random flat spots. When the car was warming up they were between 1 & 2000rpm but then the flat spot seemed to move as I was driving. How can I stop this?
Basically my engine seems to retune itself about every two days and run differently, which gives it new and excitingly different positve and negative characteristics. Is this normal or is it something I can fix?

I'll have a look for the rivety things and see if it came carpeted.
I stuck some sound deadening carpet stuff on the floor and some mats over the top but it didnt seem to reduce driving noise and wasnt that neat. So for now I think I'll just spray the metal black and go stripped interior style yo till some bits turn up.

The guy I bought my car off said he asked about getting some original extactors (an exhaust manifold or whatever theyre called) but it was cheaper to get some aftermarket extractors. I think he said around $300. I dont know who he went thru tho.

I was just wondering if 120Ys actually came with such luxury features as carpet in the back and a plasic bit/carpet/something around the handbrake.
I just looked at pulling these bits out of another car to put in mine and it didn't have them either

That second movie kind of freaked me out. He was nearly running over their toes.
But that car was sooooo hot. Do you think it would've just been a kit thing or an original body? Again sooo hot.

I reckon they'd look good if you were willing to go to all that effort but wouldn't you need to flair your guards to make them fit?
And I think they make your car look pretty high and would look a lot better if you lowered it at the front at least.
