Brent,
I checked the box last night and to me it is 1:1 final Drive. I'm new to the mechanical world so tonight I'm going to get a mechanic that I know to come over and confirm the ratio. Tomorrow I'll have a definate answer for you.
Cheers,
Stu.

Brent,
99% sure it is. I haven't even taken it out of the crate it came in when I bought it to have a look. If it is overdrive then you get a bonus. If you know of a way to assess whether it's overdrive or not, let me know and i'll open up the crate tonight at home to have a look.
Cheers,
Stu

Brent,
It's Standard Ratio. 1:1 Final drive and I wouldn't be able to tell you the amount of Km's as I bought it off someone else. I can't use the Gearbox as I've been advised that the torque in my new motor will just snap it.
Cheers

I'd suggest leaving the stock diff in to start with. What have you got to lose? I've known the A12 to bust the diff also, but then again I've had an A14 for years and it hasn't broken. I've been in burnout comps and had the engine mildly worked and the diff is still holding strong. Just try the original diff to begin with and if it breaks then it breaks. If it does break then you can replace it and incur the cost, but as a cost saver just stay with the original to begin with.

I'd have to doubt the authenticity of that claim. I'm currently having a Blown A14 built that will run 15 pounds of boost. The Professional Engine Builder estimated a max of 300hp at the flywheel so I don't see how an A12 can be putting out 320rwhp.

I've replaced my tray with flat alloy. It's just pop riveted in and sealed with a waterproof sealant around the edges. If I had a camera I'd post a few pictures so you get some ideas for yours. I'm also tubbing my ute too but it's a couple of months off yet. If you find an easy solution to this problem let me know.

I have exactly the same year model ute as you. I introduced an A14 without any mods at all. The A15 will also slip in without any mods either if you want to go a slightly bigger engine. However the A14 is better to work if you are thinking of doing some improvements to it at a later stage.
I replaced the A12 head onto the A14 block which you can do so easily then the extractors will definately fit and you will also up your compression.
At the end of March I'll have a fully supercharged A14 that I will post some pictures of that you can have a look at.

Mate,
Don't take anything less than $3,000. Datsun 1200 Ute's are highly sort after vehicles. They are appealing to just about everyone who know's a little about cars for there reliability, performance, versatility and potential. Don't sell yourself short by taking anything less.

Cheers,
