Times Square is full of people celebrating this news like they've won the world cup! Its these people that scare me more that any terrorists.

I believe these three said it all:

"What good fortune for governments that the people do not think" - Adolf Hitler
"Love, friendship, respect, do not unite people as much as a common hatred for something" - Anton Chekhov
"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind" - Ghandi

What the hell is that mounted in the dash behind it dd?
Looks like one of those ancient electronic calculator/organisers.

I was looking at a mini resto who replaced all his gauges with an ATV computer like those made by Acewell...definetly leftfield but seemed to work for what he was doing.

Thanks Shoota!
Might give it a go if it comes down to it.
Seems there is a conical type puller available for compact cars but I can find the gap dimensions, or if they are available in Australia.
Such a simple thing tho...wondering if a thick-walled bit of box section and a nut welded in the centre would do the job, but after seeing what the pressure did to the CRV...it'd wanna be thick

Ok Ill answer that one myself...so far its a big fat NO.
Borrowed a pitman arm remover...But the 1k pitman arm is too small for the standard sized pitman arm pullers!!!
the jaws on the puller was 33mm and the rim of the pitman arm must be about 30 :(
So I thought Id be tricky and bought a 3-arm bearing puller thinking it would work for pitman, balljoints and tie rods all at the same time...maybe I shoulda tried it on the smaller components first because I went for the pitman arm first off and bent and cracked the crap outta the CRV linkages, now it dont pull straight and is kinda useless :(
Lucky I borrowed the pitman puller as these tools are about 50 bucks each...now im 50 in the hole and the pitman arm is still firmly in place :(

Anybody got any other suggestions/tricks for getting this bastard off?

Will a ball joint splitter suffice?
Ie: Is there a tool that will do both Pitman arms and Ball joints without damaging them?

Are the tubs easy enough to convert to flat-tray should I feel the need down the road?

So Im looking at this tomorrow. Im really sold on this particular model, Its well used but closer to my budget...excellent service history...still a bit nervous at the amount on the clock. Then I see something like this one more than half the clicks, later model...but petrol.
At a glance, which would you choose?

Hey Baldy I reckon I can help gotta run to work but PM me your number and I'll call you this evening if you like.
I had a GT Cortina that was stolen and used in an armed robbery in Hobart...They were caught, ran out of petrol at the scene (I never kept any in it) but not before deliberately destroying the every gauge glass and bezels, interior and window trim - basically all the bits impossible to replace. Such a dog act.
Glad shes still standing though.
