I had the pleasure of checking out the drifts at Baskerville raceway near Hobart on the weekend.
Seemed to be a pretty healthy and friendly scene down there, 180sx and skylines seemed to be the most popular car but there was a V8 Corolla that was owning everyone...the driver was said to be only 17!

Some of the sponsored cars even had tyres that made coloured smoke...I joked what next lavender scent?...they said that you could get flavoured mehtanol for drag cars nowadays that go by with a whiff of cherry blossom :)

Heaps of fun to watch...some of the better cars were said to be entering the corners at speeds of up to 150 kph!
Dunno about dattos, I would have thought that heavier cars would hold the road better at the speeds these guys were going... except for a 1200 in in the spectators parking...and in true Tassie style I kept seeing him driving all over Hobart for the rest of my visit :)

Might see you there D if I get my #OOPS# together early enough. I only just realised the place you were talking about...The mrs goes there all the time, but Ive only ever known it as she calls it Ahmeds (the guys name), hence the confusion.

If not...Kmart it is

Just do one side. That way you still get to fool half of the street.

Im pretty sure there'd be an app for that?

I have a CB in the Hilux, I have been working near a major trucking route. This led to some VERY entertaining lunch breaks, I ended up listening to it more than the radio.

Pity this wasn't bough up earlier as CBs are a great idea for cruises. Not sure how discreet the aerials that are available now tho, a datto would be dwarfed by the one I have for the lux and look ridiculous...but for short range you could probably hook one up through the radio antenna.

Running 185/60s atm...they still seem pretty chunky. Is 10mm really going to make that much difference?

D, not sure about the mrs. as she works most weekends, ill ask.

Im just near Sydney Road so put me down for the pre-meet/breaky

Going to find some tyres this week, something that will fit a bit better so I can finally wind my caster back out and not have it handling like an infant eating an ice-cream...tho something tells me perhaps I'm hoping for a bit too much :/

Are you a mechanic?...It always pays to have a one riding at the back on a Datsun cruise ;)

...I still remember being in debt to a few of the members here from the GOR cruise after accidentally hitting my battery ejection button :/

Yeah as long as one mechanic rides up front...that classifies as "on the way to the mechanics" for the rest of us... no?
