Ok so it REALLY objected to having battery acid shoved down its throat...
Anyone got one lying around or able to suggest where I could obtain one to suit an A12?

...Or maybe even how much they are worth would be a good starting point.

I dont think it was loose to begin with. It was all the tight corners and the battery being slightly larger than the bracket... At the first few corners I thought it was just the tyres scrubbing as there was a fair bit of that action anyway and was only happening on the corners..by time I pulled over to check it there was a nice hole worn out of it and bits of chewed battery and acid all over the place...it had also taken some wires out with it...well I wont mistake that particular sound again!

....hopefully at worst its a good clean, new battery and some general wire tidying...though Im going to keep a close eye on the alternator as it copped a fair bit of acid .

You know you are welcome to visit anytime Dave...just hope I get my living arrangemnts sorted soon so I actually have a place to start working on it...(running searches on domain.com using "garage" and "shed" as keywords )

Well first of all fomal apologies to all for being the one to cut the trip short for all(...to cut a long story short for those who werent there... tight corners+ loose battery bracket+battery contact with alternator=acid all over the electrics+a big mess!)
Pretty overwhelmed by all of you sticking around to help at get it back on the road...so much thanks and respect...couldnt think of a better bunch of peeps to break down around
That aside...It was a perfect day!I had heaps of fun and it was great to meet you all.
Hopes to humbly see you all at the next one (after a trip to the auto-electricians to get the mess sorted...) Weirdest thing was...while losing the use certain electrics...the central locking unit has mysteriously started working again!

32/36...Dave had it set up for his worked A15...so the amount of fuel going through them was riduculous for the A12...so I got smaller jets put in...now it just seems to be holding back.

Hey all.
I seem to remember a thread a while back about laser cutting.
I need to get some non-datsun related cutting of alluminium done here in Melbourne but im having trouble finding a place that will do small runs without blowing my budget.
Suggestions would be much appreciated!

...forget the bike riders...its amazing how stupid some motorists appear to be when you ride a bike...Ive been hit from behind, swerved at,yelled at had objects thrown at me from cars NOT because i was holding them up...just simply for being on a bike.

Speaking as someone who had a car deliberatley clip them from behind at an intersection while waiting for the lights to turn green(I caught up with him at the next set...lets just say he needed a new side mirror )...maybe they run red lights to put as much distance between themselves and the cars.

Bike lanes mysteriously seem to disappear at major intersections...just when you need them most!
