Hi fellas,

I am in western Australia, though I'm happy to freight.

I'm only after a complete A15 cylinder head, not the whole engine.

Was the A15 from NZ in parts?

Cheers

Hey fellas,

Wondering if anyone is interested in selling a complete A15 head. I have just found out that my A12 head has cracked (coolant on the plugs). May as well replace with a better one...

Cheers

Thanks again fellas, I'll post up a few pics when it starts coming together...

Yeh they are around $3k,
I'm not sure but I think after you hunt around and buy all the bits, reco the bits you can't get new, plus the cost of making it all fit together, it would probably cost about the same, plus a lot of hassles doing it?

What sort of wheels would you need to clear those huge brakes though?

Do you know of any similar Rear brake conversions? Or is it just easier to get a tough diff that already has discs?

Hey fellas.

Just after some opinions / Info on the DATSPORT R32 Skyline strut / disc conversion.
http://www.datsport.com/R32Z_CO_DS.html
The guys put some pretty good packages together for the 1600's and this conversion suits the 1200 as well.

Has anybody got this installed in their 1200?

I will probably need to install something like this to have any hope of legally putting a SR20DET / 13BT in the ute

I am interested in getting something like this that has all the work and machining already done as I live in a pretty remote area of WA, to get parts machined or modified etc you usually have to send it to perth or send it over to eastern states.

This bolt in kit looks to be the way to go to avoid hassles.

Any ideas

Yeh as you said, somewhere there would have to be a record of the dimensions...

Patent office?
Crash safety / structural information data?

But in the mean time, I have downloaded the blueprints for the coupe.
Going to model the coupe, then chop the rear section off and convert it into a ute.

I superimposed the coupe over a photo of the ute from side on, looks to be the same.

The back window of the ute is inline with the back of the "B pillar" on the coupe, with curved side panels to blend into the flat line of the tray top.

The crease that runs along the side from the front quater thru the door to the tail light is the same...

seems the utes and the coupes share more then just the doors and front section, maybe one of these after market replacement ute rear quaters could be grafted onto a coupe with only slight modification?? (to repair rusty coupe)?

And yeh somehow I found that micko1200's email in a google search so I've emailed him to see if hes got some ute blueprints

cheers for the help fellas

Cheers mildman, im having no luck finding drawings or blueprints for the ute, I wonder if there is a top/front/side on the brochure?
The picture in that thread "tell him he's dreamin" I saw top front side views on one of the brochures, not of a ute though....

... Might start modelling another datto while im searching...

dingdang,

Havn't been able get hold of an ammeter yet to suss out what is causing the problem. I think the regulator could be bustedl, when the car is at idle you can hear the alt. coming on and going off pretty frequently.

When I stop the car, turn the ignition completely off, and remove the L shaped clip from the alternator, there is a large spark. If i leave it off, the battery doesnt drain.......

I have a self regulating alternator that I am pretty sure will fit.

I'll whack it on tomorrow and see if it makes any difference.
