Thanks for your help guys. Don't know why it won't fit cos like I said I've used this setup before but I guess know I've just got to fix it . unfortunately my usual method of "buy a bigger hammer" won't work !!

Haha I've seen his "yoke" before in another tailshaft post when I was browsing. Think I'll just get it shortened rather than trying to figure out why it doesn't fit, I'll just make it fit. !! Haha. I've been quoted $190.00 to shorten and balance at a driveshaft specialist. Does that sound about right? Thought it was reasonable.

That would b great if u could find that post. Just had a look through the tec section and found its 1138mm from centre of the uni joint to the centre of the yoke joint for a standard 1200 tailshaft. The 120y one I have is 1160 so looks like a 1200 one is the go. If that info is correct it would give me my 20mm.

Yeah I thought you should have 10-20 mm but never really thought about it cos I've used the 120y before wit no problems. Does anyone know the length of a standard 1200 tailshaft??? The 120y one I have is 1320mm.

I have a 1200 ute that's almost finished with an a15, h150 and a 120y tailshaft. The tailshaft is a pretty snug fit. Probably only 1 or 2mm play. I took it for a drive up the street for the first time and when I got back I noticed a small patch of oil which was leaking out the back of the rear gearbox seal. I've had this same setup in another car before but not sur if the other tailshaft was shortened before I had brought it. I always thought u should have at least 10mm play. Could this b the problem. Do u normally have to shorten the 120y tailshaft with this set up??

I'll just take the extra 10 out of the plate with a die grinder. If needed I can get 5 out of the bolt holes like the picture shows. I've only checked it with a level and also a plumb bob so hopefully that's enough.
