i was driving my new bought ca 18 det ute last friday for the first time afyter registering it in the morning. so proud and grinning from ear to ear. i get 10 mins down the road and i hear the turbo timer start beeping.......WTF!!!!!!!.... car stops dead after the 20 sec delay and i roll to the side of the road and won't restart. so i get a tow which costs 70 and 30 for the auto electrician to tell me it was a fuse right up under the dash where i couldn't see. a 20 c fuse just cost me 100......... i feel your pain but i'd rather spend 5 hours then 100.... actually maybe not haha

what is the tps. this is my first fuel injected car, so all these abreviations are doing my head in, i know what maf, pcv and cts are but what about IAV.???? i haven't tried the throttle control sensor yet as i've been trying to get it on the road which happened friday, so will this week. a new electronic idle control sensor is about 180 from nissan but i will try a second hand on from alljap or somethingfirst i think.just annoying.the lowest mine will idle once warm has been about 1700 or so. but usually about 2000, sometime 2500.
i am using the stock tacho!!!! how would i adjust the throttle sensor..... if u mean the actuator off the cable on the side of the inlet manifold then its fine, there is a few mil slack and seems to be ok. before it warms up it idle rough and cold and wants to die but after a minute or two its ok about 1500... as it get warmer it idles higher and higher

thanks guys. i will mostly be using it for street but will take it down the strip occasionally. seems like a piggyback might do the trick for my application. can any one point a good ca tuner around brissie..????? i know dyson down the coast got a pretty good tune on my mates ca but its a bit far and and tey specialise in rotaries. and as far as the other guys APC, perfourmance motorsport, extreme motorsport etc i don't know anyone who has used them. what your guys opinion ???

i have a ca18det 1200 ute and is running the standard computer at the moment. i want to upgrade the engine management and am wondering which aftermarket ecu would be best. i plan to upgrade later to a t 28 and 55occ injectors. it already has 3 inch exhaust. i don't want to pay for an expensive unit that i won't use the features of, so would a piggy back one do the job??? cheers

i had an accident in my ute earlier this year, a15 lowered mags extractors exhaust etc.( not my fault) and the car was claimed as a repairable write off. they were going to give me there market value which was 1500 dollars for the ute when i had just spent 5,000 on it. i showed 10 similar utes for sale on trading post and car sales ranging from 2500 -6000 and i recieved a payout of 3800. it says market value so i guess that means what they are selling for else where....... market value.... not there market value. i then brought the car back for 50 dollars and sold it for a 1000 to johndownunder on here and he repaired it. just some ingfo to help others......
