i pulled my tank out today
it had rust around where the circle bracket holds sender in my neighbour said clean that so it gets good earth
he also checked the sender and it works half way with ohm meter and the rest didnt work im guessing top half
he gave the tiny wires that toch on the moving part a clean with fine sand paper then worked all the way through
im gonna fill up tomorrow and see if it works

is this what usualy goes wrong???

whats the normal things that go wrong with the guage not working

if your radiator is the 1 you posted the pic of in photos that is NOT your problem its bloody HUGE
i have used smaller radiators on big block chevs
it could be the pic but it looks pretty big to me

check the water flow
check direction of air out of the thermos
check whole cooling system Pump thermostat etc
i must say them thermos are rubish and i find stock fans out of modern cars are alot better that run in a surrounding then them fans im guessing there craig davis fans

i have found on the big v8s the late model commo radiators with stock fans run the best and better then any other radiattor i have ever used

im running a small radiator HONDA CIVIC but double the thickness and an aluminium tyype but if its over heats ill try fit a commo 1 if it fits between cooler pipes

if reverse light wires went through tunnel from engine bay there deffinatley been chopped and there not there any more so ill have to run new wires from in the cab to box and back to lights

ddgonzal...
yes the engine and chassis number is stamped in the plate on driver side
and also in body above firewall
but
the rest of the details of the id plate are not there as there worn away only visible thing on plate is the
engine.no.
chassis.no.

i asked blueslip place and they said they can use the chassis number to find the details like build date make and model through the rta

so i guess i just have to go for rego and see what happens now

has any1 else had this problem and what was done to fix it???

thanks guys

did they come from factory with reverse lights???

and if yes where is the wires that connect to the gearbox???

the wires i think are near the lights but i cant see any that go from body to the box...

did the early 70 and 71 come out with a month/year or just year on id tag???

because its so old the id tag only shows the engraved engine and body number the rest of the details are worn away from age
the rta says aslong as the body number is vissible it dont matter has any1 else had this before and what did you do as i just put stickers to show the model year etc so if they wanted to check underneath they can peal off

would this be ok???

if some1 with a pre 71 model can answer these questions and tell me any differences between the early 70 models to the 80 models it would be much appreciated
so far i been told on pre 71
no hazzards
no retractable belts
mph dash
no compliance plate
metal grill
no side mirrors
