Hey everyone, I am fitting a Toyota W58 supra gearbox to my 1200 coupe and was wondering if anyone has done it before, I know it’s very unlikely as a lot of people don’t like Toyota motors in Datsun's but any suggestions would be great. I have thought about making my own tunnel and welding it in but figured welding another cars standard tunnel over the existing then cutting the old one out would be the easiest option. So any ideas would be great.
Thanks Brent

Hey Peter, I see you already have another car to work on :), Toyota's have been one of my favorite cars/motors apart from Datsun's of course :P, but Toyota seem to build strong motors. That’s the plan for betty, a Toyota 4AGTE :P I should have all the running gear and set up in around Christmas, I will post up pic’s when I get time.

Hey I’m the new owner and thanks again peter for all your help, I will send you photos and specs of what I have done to it along the way. We got a lot of people looking at Betty on the trip home, almost thinking of leaving it in those colours. But I’m not sure if I will be able to make it to the SDC meeting I was going to try and make it to the show tomorrow but I’m not sure yet. Be sure to keep your eyes open for a thread on the build.
Thanks Brent

Hey man not offended at all, thanks for your honest opinion, seems like it would be easier to buy a whole car just for doors. I just wish when people repaired cars they did it correctly the first time not make it worse, as that’s what they have done to the doors on my coupe, now its just making it harder to fix.
