Dave they are 6.5mm deep.

I'm going to give up some power over buying another set of flat tops from JE (probably 5-6) but as these were on $99 I'm willing to live with it. I have to check but I also may be able to go back to running 91 octane pump gas. I'm expecting the motor to be around 95hp at the wheels.

I just got a set of A15 pistons, ITM # RY6119 and can confirm that the dish volume is 10cc. Note this is the offset dish style.

Since this question comes up from time to time I'm posting this so people can find it in a search.

Also note the compression ratio with a GX head (29cc chamber) & GX .8mm thick gasket will be 9.89-1.

I've run 12-1 compression & 8200 rpm in the A15 and 11.8 compression & 8600 rpm in the A12. I've never had a ring break.

Something isn't right; either the ring end gaps or as rgrinder mentioned it snagged when the piston was installed.

I'm also not using any fancy rings just standard Hastings or other known brands.

Rockauto has the RY6080 for Dodge Colt. I was going to order one but you can only get them as sets so it would be a $100 experiment.

At 3mm deep I'm going to assume they are between 7-10cc. Milling the tops to fit an A12A would likely bring it to 6-9cc.

I found a set that are 1.5mm overbore (78.4mm) but given the dish size the compression may not be what I want (no less than 10-1)

If perchance one could mill them down to fit an A15 they would be perfect.

I remember it as well; it was quite as extreme as the Ford/Cosworth MAE where they are near vertical. I've given thought to this as wel as I have a damaged head that might be worth playing with.

Well, she will be delighted that you all have committed her to a poster for next year.

I do have the Formula 500 maybe that would be better for the whole racer X thing.

She asked me what I wanted for my birthday, so I told her "surprise me" and so she did. I framed it and hung it in the garage mahal.

Thanks for posting cool stuff Harry.

The L20 powered cars in my run group are belting out 200HP at the wheels. they get around 8-10 hours out of a motor.

I so want a Cosworth BDA for my car but that's not going to ever happen.

The video link works great...…….I've now got 6 hours of fun to watch.
