I'm currently in the same boat as you. This seems to be a fairly grey area, but I'd like to get a decent booster - master cylinder setup going now while I've got the engine out for the rebuild.

I've been told every thing from 120y's, to a Sunny booster with a 180B mastercylinder.

Reward out to someone who can put us straight!

Yep its much easier to flick through a manual sometimes than it is to search the net.

Even a 120y manual and things like that will come in handy for one reason or another (actually got one of them too )

They are both probably very similar in detail - the factory ones are the best to get hold of if you can.

I'm lucky I've got a couple of 1200 manuals (different publishers), and a Factory Nissan Vanette manual covering the A15 in great detail - it comes in very handy.

Perhaps you would be able to name the "special metallic paint" required to chrome plastic As I have a few parts here that I would love to be chromed...........

I hope you are not referring to the horrible aftermarket tail light surrounds available (the ones where the chrome starts to flake off after about a month).

If you know a business that can do it then please let us know (I reckon it would be VERY expensive if its possible).

Anyone got any pics of their (Rear plastic chromed bumpers)?

If the other engine mods are only small then I wouldn't reckon you would have to go with some twins.

If it were just for a mild street engine say with a mild cam, mild headwork etc then a single side draught should be more than enough - even a well setup 32/36 downdraught.
If its a fairly extreme engine with major headwork, cam etc then yeah go with the twins

Here is a site you (all ) might find usefull - it measures what size carby would be appropriate givin things like max RPM etc
Carby Technical Advice

Hope this helps

Ahhhhhhh what enjoyment I've just got out of reading through this giant topic.

I've just got one thing to say - and this is not to offend anyone just a point that I'd like to make - :

Its very easy to tell which guys on here have spent too much time at uni with their head in a book looking at everything from a scientific, theoretical, complicated technical viewpoint.

Then you have the guys who are QUALIFIED tradesmen with years of "hands on" experience, knowledge and know how, skinned knuckles , chasing intermittent problems under pressure while listening to someone tell them they know a guy who done that in 5 mins whats taking you so long etc etc ##$@ etc................

You could spend an eternity at uni doing degrees in mechanical engineering or whatever but it can NEVER teach you "HANDS ON EXPERIENCE"

So get a spanner in your hands and get a feel for it because sometimes I think you can actually be so smart that you're stupid
