Easiest way to fill up gearbox : 20litre drum with a drum pump and a small nozzle that will fit in the filler plug(looks like a little square shaped plug) - I think an open end 9'16 or 14mm ring spanner will undo it. This is also the level plug for your gearbox oil. I'm not sure what country you're in but I have used BP Energear easyshift oil for the gear box. Fill it up till it runs out the filler plug as this is also your level.
The drain plug is underneath (Obviously...)

As for the clutch an easy job.
Rip off the starter motor, gearbox etc.
When you are looking at the clutch undo the ring of bolts around the outside.
She'll all come apart nice.
If you have got an old input shaft use that to line up the new clutch assembly in the spigot.
Make sure you gease the spigot bearing.
Always clean the flywheel down very good with emery paper and make sure there is no oil or anything on it.
If in doubt and it looks like there are any hot spots on the flywheel - Get it machined.
If you wanna "spin up the wheels" u might as well get them to lighten and balance the flywheel while its out.........................................other than that spend some money on the donk........................

I'm shopping for some race seats for my ute, just wondering what you guys have successfully fitted in the ute cab.
Doesn't really matter whether their fixed back or recliners.
Which seats fit in really nice (given the massive cab area )
Thanks.

Don't Stress. $%@ Happens!

Even if it is the head gasket its no huge drama. Probably one of the best little motors to do a head gasket on - nice and easy.

There should be more than enough info on this site and people willing to help you out if it is the head gasket.

Lets just hope its not

I'd be definately getting the starter motor off then and checking it out.
Have a good luck at the pinion teeth.
Put the starter in a vice or something and check its operation with a set of jumper leads.
There is a fair chance that the teeth on the starter pinion will be stuffed and / or the flywheel teeth.

Start with the starter.

That last comment was a beauty

Yep ring around and take no crap from them.
They are all the same - it seems the more genuine you are - the more they will try and sting you.
Remember also that if you have to ever make a claim they will do EVERYTHING they can to weasel out of paying anything. Thats how they survive.

I'm negative aren't I.

Hi Razor,
While it is very hard to diagnose noises via the internet I will give you a possibility that may help you out.
You say in your second post that:

"its like I'm starting the engine twice."

If this is the best way to describe the noise then it is possible that the starter motor pinion gear is not disengaging properly from the flywheel after you start up the motor therefore causing clatter and noise between the starter and flywheel.
Does the noise go away?
Does the noise increase or decrease with engine speed?
If it turns out to be the starter, then it's no big deal really, so long as you fix it before it gets worse and maybe damages the flywheel.
I wouldn't be concerned about big ends and things YET.
Always start with the basics and work your way up.
Hope this helps. I'll check back on this post to see if you add any more details of the noise.
