did all four lock up, front only, rear only or only one wheel?

Sounds like either the master cylinder is stuffed or wheel cylinders, has it been sitting around for a while? Does it have a booster?

Look for an A14 or A15 you can get good power out of these on the cheap

Do you have the sandwich plate, (plate in between gearbox and the motor).

I had the same sort of thing happen on one of my su's turned out the float had a small crack in it so it was filling with fuel and not rising to shut off the needle and seat, so fuel was just pouring out the overflow.

Is the r31 diff a skyline or a pintara?

How much for the tailshaft and the radiator and intercooler set up (i know it may be a custom job but 2200 is a bit rich)
