Sorry, I'm with D on this one... It's excellent work though, really. However, the 300ZX is a soul less antiseptic excuse for a car. What's great about older cars are the body angle breaks and the trim parts. Flush glass, seamless transitions of lights and body panels, integrated bumpers, etc... Modern cars look like cars with cheese melted over them. I do applaud the need to do something original though. I think you're going to have to go all the way though since you've done all this work. I would shave off the rest of the trim, gutters, vents, etc.. Otherwise the back is going to look very incongruous with the rest of the car. I would have used '71 Skyline GTR tail lights for something different but still keeping with the period.. Sorry to rant on like this! Your fab skills are impressive!

I run 1 degree negative camber on the street with super gummy Toyo R888's. Haven't noticed any appreciable uneven tire wear. However, why does everyone say you need as much positive castor as you can get? I've heard that a bunch of times. I know it's better for high speed stability and self centering, but won't it make turn in feel more sluggish? My castor is stock and I like how light the steering is, it doesn't feel overly twitchy to me. What's the story there?

Anyone know what a reasonable, realistic price for a twin hitachi/S.U. carb setup should be? I don't think that it's the 1200GX setup, as the carbs are round top but not left and right sided. They are identical. Also, it has a bar linkage like a Mikuni or Weber setup, and the manifold fits the A14-15 head ports. Sorry no pics, a friend has it....

Unless modified, twin 38mm S.U.'s are too small for a worked over L20B. Even a single 45 Weber or 44 Mikuni would be pushing it I think. With twin 40mm mikuni's on the dyno my engine couldn't get enough fuel at the higher RPMs. For a worked L20B I would go for twin 44 Mikuni's or twin 45 Weber's. Just my two cents.....

Well, I'll just throw this out there... I'm selling my Rebello L23B(L20B stroked to 2.3). It was in my '69 510, it dynoed out at 220H.P. at the wheels,(Yes at the wheels) and is very streetable as I drove it for 4 years on the street. Power from way down low. Plus I agree that S.U.'s or Hitachies are way too small for an L20B.I don't think I would put it in a 1200 though, too heavy. I'm sure it would cook in a straight line but I think the balance of the car would be way off after adding over 100lbs. to the nose. Plus you're going to have to swap out the rear end for something a lot beefier like an H190 or something like that...
