hey, I got this mad beast for sale, needs to go asap!!
Datsun 1000
2 door Sedan
Manual
Lowered at the rear
Matte Black
Sick arse aerial that looks like a rude finger
1200 hubbys
Problems:
Needs new rear shockers, Badly
I lost the keys (maybe in boot)
Has a short some where and the indicators do all sort of wierd ####. Like make the brake lights flash.
Exhaust fell off, so now it has a straight pipe side exit exhaust. The gearbox / diff / whatever make some pretty radical noises at speeds over 70km/h.
This car has been the most reliable car I have ever owned, in the three years Ive had it, it has never broken down. Its starts first go all the time every time, even after a month of sitting. It cost me $30 dollars to fill the tank at $1.18l. I drove from west beach to Pt Gawler and back and all through town and the parade on monday with no problems.
$500 Dollars and the ultimate pimp mobile is yours.
PS its a chick magnet.
PPS Not really.
PPPS Im in Adelaide

I can vouch for this ute, it is very impressive, and very quick (was pulling up the arse of my sil80). A steal at that price. If I had the cash I would snap it up in a second

speak to barry at datsport, he does these conversions alot.. IIRC an l18 is legal in a 1200, I believe you can put a 2000cc NA engine in one or an 1800cc Turbo/supercharged engine in.. but dont quote me on that, as regency and transport sa like to change thier minds every 5 seconds.

building up my drift car has got me hankering for some grip racing... I wanna build my 1000 2 door sedan into a track car, but I dont know where to start - what classes could I race in? what engine capacity brakes etc etc do I need to compete in said class, I am 100 percent commited to getting the mighty 1000 on the track but I need some help to get started... any one?

anything can drift, just some things are better than others. I think 1200's, 1000's, sunny's, 120y's etc would be harder to drift than many other cars due to their short wheelbase. An LSD (or most likely locker) is one of the most important aspects of a drift car, and is one of the first things you do if you want to seriously drift a car. An open wheeler is not going to cut the mustard.

the closest match would be a jdm ae86 sprinter, having recently owned one, i can safely say they are datsun 1200's that go faster and handle better. only problem is they are toyota. or get a silvia / 180sx, who cares if theyre not like 1200s. they are the most fun, exciting car ive ever owned / driven.
