well im doing the datsun 1200 ute conversion with the ca18det and it has 130kw at the flywheel (claimed) but ive hurd of people putting the stock ca powered silvia on the dyno and it only producing about 100 rwkw as far as mods go after u start touching the boost in a stock engine its the fuel pump and injectors will need doing first ( and maby a thicker gasket ) but with out the gasket ive seen people run 15psi with only the fuel pump and a slighty better pair of injectors ... but i really woulnt run it like that for extened periods he said hes pushing it becuase we were at the strip
ps he ran a 14.1 with a deasont reaction time

i dont no about microtec but i know that heltec is a good computer but its all about how much u are willing to fork out for theese things stock will do me for a while well untill im looking for some seriouse power( 250rwkw) but almost any aftermarket computer will handle things better than the stock one well if u keep to the major brands anyways. thanks

im doing a ca1200 conversion and im also doing the internals before i drop the motor in ( pistons/ rods only ca have deasontly strong rods stock but... and the cams can be changed wilst in the engine bay) but i was looking for the lowest conpression i can find becuase the reallity is the only way to make power out of a 4 cyl is BOOST AND QUALITY FUEL. but i was goin for some were around 8.3-1 so wen the motor is done i should be able to run some were around 24 psi but thats just me thinking ahead

nice so .. in the end silvia gear box is the way to go even if its a little bit more costly to fit becuase it a better box all round and i dont have to change the diff .. if i buy the lsd for the stock diff will it be strongenough to do proper launches and other stranous tasks

thanks for the help, now about theese other gear boxes is the silvia box the best for this motor or should i just get the engine and buy the "R30 stumpy" that just needs the tunnel to be bashed a little bit, witch is best route or is there a nother way to go about things
also does the diff need to be changed to the shortend r31 for the stock ca18det motor or is it a good idear to have this done at the same time as the conversion... ive hurd of people keeping the stock diff in any comments or advice would be great
thanks allwaysallin

ok wen i first looked in to doing this conversion ( 1200 ute manual- ca18det) like 6 months ago i was told that the gear box tunnel has to be cut out heeps to fit the box in but yesterday wen to jap motors to get a half cut quote ($2600) and was told to buy a kit and it just bolts on no cuttin or weilding or anythink i had got a quote from stainless customs on doing the diff and the exhaust and droping the motor in to the empty engine bay but now the guys from jap motors said that its eazy and i could do it my self with a $300 kit from them
any one tryed theese kite. is there any cutting and or major mods needed in the gear box tunnel. or any think else that would provent me from doing this at home. thanks allwaysallin
