I asked myself the same question a few weeks ago, but decided to keep the origional Sunshine Yellow (which is more like a lime yellow)... such a unique color, cant loose it in a parking lot and its so of era for the 70's

Body work is nearly done thankfully

racetech, not to sound funny but have you ever actualy ran your pick up around a race track and had it timed? reason I ask is that it would be very nice to see a documented before and after effect from going from a live axel setup to a IRS especialy in such a light car...

Reason why I mention this is from seeing live vs IRS lotus 7's around scribante,

Yes it is common especialy on A14/5's when the compression goes over 11-1. My A12 starter wouldnt even kick the A15, the A15 starter burnt out in 3 days and wouldnt start under 30deg My whole starter conversion ran about R500 (under $100 au)

I had a old ford V6 (common in South Africa) motor section of the starter grafted onto my A-series front bell section with a custom bendix and solonoid. Starts my high comp A15 like a rocket!

S13/S14 rear subframe is also nice and compact. I would suggest investing in some Catia or similar modeling software to work out your mounting points, lengths, pivot angles etc...

As for BW's and diff's, mine will be finnished with the LSD within the next two weeks,,, At under R5000 all in im not complaining

good luck guys, i look forward to following this!

We all know how datsuns love to rust out the water box's and the front upper long member due to funky design and inability to coat inside and then rust when they get blocked..

Question is, besides a little water from the windscreen wiper holes, what purpose does the cowls have besides looks? Normal cars have the air intake for the heater box in the waterbox/plenum area under the cowl but on the datto is doesnt...

Reason I ask is that im busy doing the loverly task of refurb the body and as with just about every 1200 i get a nice stream of water on my feet when it rains, I have sealed it and repaired it nice but was actualy thinking of making a sealing plate under the cowls so it looks like they are still there but no water can get in besides a few drops from the windscreen wiper holes which can just run out as per OE design..

Opinions plz.

Hey guys,

Anyone know where I can find a full rubber kit for a 1200 4 door? Doors, boot, window scrapers etc.. I know Phils rotary sells on Ebay but due to the lack of email and shipping prices I dont have time to wait as the cars body work is almost done.
