I was looking everywhere too.

Gave up in the end...
besides, quite a few people told me to 'go the CA18 box'- smoother, stronger and probably cheaper.

even in a ute!

Picked mine up tonight.

Each to their own though.

How much should I pay for a CA18DET Gearbox?

In reasonable condition - It was tested in the car, no whine, standard boost in a 180SX.

Has anyone used SUPERTECH Pistons?
or know of anyone who has?
Below is the article for them...

They have been around for a while, seem reasonably priced and by the description - sound good.

Supertech - High Performance Pistons w/Rings
Includes Pins & Wire Locks

Nissan CA18DET

More than 40 years of experience in the design of racing pistons and the utilization of the latest CAD software & Finite Element Analysis (FAE) enables us to design strong high performance and yet light pistons for each application.

Compression ratio was computed with .030" head gasket and .010" deck.
A phosphate dry lubricant coating is applied to most of the pistons to protect against ring micro welding and enhance skirt lubrication.

Our pistons are manufactured from extruded high silicon, enhanced 4032 alloy (with additional Cu, Ni & Mg) that has low thermal expansion, excellent wear resistance and higher thermal conductivity.

The pistons are submitted to several machining steps in specially designed machines and in conventional CNC machines with special diamond tools for dimensional precision, perpendicularity and flatness of the ring grooves.

Thanks guys,
Seems CA is the way to go?!?!

What about tunnel size?

Was going to use a 180B tunnel with the stumpy box.
Probably going to use CA box now - A few good reports... Thankyou!

I am assuming I will still need the bigger tunnel? - What have you guy's done?

sooty_grunter - Have you got any interior pic's mate?

I have a Datsun 1200 Ute.
Can someone plz tell me exactly how much longer the CA box is compared to the Stumpy?

Does anyone have any pics of shifter positions (especially in a ute) Of either box?.

A few people have told me the CA box is a better box - smoother, stronger. but, too long for the ute.

Any help would be great...

Cheers
