DD: You might be right, I might be crazy. In the CL ad it looks like a badly eroded stock steering wheel, hence the 'significantly lightened' thought. Looking at it again, I realize this car might have the ultra-rare Mummy wrap steering wheel option; mummies were trending right before zombies became all the rage.

While advertised as stock, it has several performance mods: the racing battery has been laid on its side to lower the centre of gravity and the steering wheel has been significantly lightened.

Nice workmanship on the aluminium plate!
Is this a left-hand drive or right-hand drive model?

Tom, I sent you a word doc with the history of the car that the owner supplied. And, true that it would be a tough job to get it back to its original C Sedan spec - it would need stock-ish fenders, doors, steel quarter panels, and a return to the original leaf spring rear suspension from its current coil-over setup. It is still an all-tub car however, so for someone with decent metal working skills, (not me) it could be done. It would be nice to see it returned to its old school championship trim.

Interesting GT5 racecar with long history all the way back to Don Devendorf.

Mattndew certainly does whittle up some neato keen alloy rocker covers! The two piece he did for me adds bling and practicality. It's worth the wait and the price.

Very tidy survivor. Bungee cord battery hold down is a whimsical touch.

Thanks, gentlemen. I suppose I should rummage through my Ziplock bag of shims and install an appropriate set then, eh?

What purpose do the (2) half shims between the clutch master cylinder and the firewall serve? No reference in the Tech Wiki or Ye Olde Shoppe Manual. Inquiring minds want to know...thanks!
