hi sikhilux

do you need an engineereds certificate for a brake upgrade ?

For me it poses the question what mods do you need an engineereds certificate for. i am in vic it may be different from state to state
all input is welcome.

Hi guys thanks for you imput .
i got motor from pick a part about 18 months ago $220 .The acl bearings were dated 2004 so it had been rebuilt in 2004 it had the pistons in it. i just put new ring in it & the big welsh plug at the back was leaking a lot ide say it was not replaced all the other plugs look new ring from S W motorsport about $80 plug $4 honing tool $35 . cam grind & lifter reface $110 timing chain from rockauto USA $35 cam sprocket ebay $200 gasket kit ebay USA $30 .the head i had already a15 i had rebuilt by cavehill engines in lilydale vic it wos his suggestion to go with the bigger valves $800 porting kit $100 & about 4000 hours of my time porting is expensive but its worth getting done by a pro = $1614

its going in my kb10 down the trak

for turbo i think a14 h72 head is low comp but i am no expert (x is an unknone quantity spert a drip under pressurer )

I have finished my a15 rebuild it has 1mm oversize a15 ACL pistons = about 1530 cc it will have twin 40mm dhla dellortos & 4 into 1 hurricane extractors . the cam is a wade 140/09 profile. cam lift 0.296(0.429 @ valve) duration @50 is 238. cam lift @ TDC IN 0.088 EX 0.068 PHASE 109 my undererstanding is its a street cam for twin dellortos good from 3000 rpm to 7000 rpm. the head has L16 valves cut down for memory inlets are 38mm & ex 32mm with holden 6 cylinder double valve springs mild porting. about 1mm of head to get comp to 10 to 1 also has adjustable cam sprocket & chrome molly light weight flywheel . hopefully it will go ok. I have tried to do this on a tight budget . any feedback would be appreciated.
