My first car was a subaru 1800 wagon... That thing was great. I gave it to my dad, and now the back tailgate is hanging by a few pieces of metal (Rusty rusty). My second car was a '91 Liberty wagon, and then i found the datsuns. I've got a 1200 wagon now that i'm working on. And seeing as I go to uni now, it wont be done up for a while. But, she's going strong, and waiting for me to make her beautiful again (although I think she's beautiful now) Leaking water under the floors, No air-con, not as much power, but way way cooler!!

So, did you throw it out? Is it and the gearbox in decent condition? I might come up north to grab it. I live down in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide. A bit of a drive to Salisbury, but it might be worth it?

So, like all old car owners, I dread the badly done bog job. It seems the guy before me liked doing it himself, and loved using bog (badly). There's a huge lot coming through in my sill at them moment ....and in the passenger door.... and in the passenger front guard.... I'm not too worried about the doors and guards because I'll be able to get them new from somewhere, but I'm not too sure about the sill. I've heard these are very expensive jobs to do if you were to go to a panel beater, so I wanted to know whether anyone had done their own sill repairs before. Anyone in SA ever bought new sills for their 1200? And has anyone ever put them on themselves? We'll hopefully be getting a Mig welder or something like it soon, so is it possible to do it at home, and save some $$$$$??? Cheers guys!!!

You gotta love old cars. My indicators on my 1200 are giving me the ####s at the moment. I've tried tinkering with the indicator housing, cleaning the contacts and all that in there. The indicators work when perfectly when the car is still, but once I start driving, they sometimes don't come on, or they'll click off early. Anyone else had this sort of trouble? I've put a new steering wheel on, so is it that? Cheers guys!
