I was looking for a nice fast datsun while i keep on with my life long project at home.no[1]1200 coupe ca18det very nice white 400hp [claim]neat but a little exp 110k approx 9k usa [2]1200 coupe sr20det about 80k --this all on gumtree rsa. I then went to another site [junkmail] and there's this rotary 1200 4dr looks neat just could do with bumpers and car is a bit far about [1700k]but i still phone to see if i can work it out, turns out this chap does datsun 1200's -- 4age, rotary etc.He then sends me photo's of the cars and tells me to check out a ute on youtube that he has done .lamborghini gallardo spyder vs nissan 1400 bakkie -- ijust had to smile -- these chaps are wild-- slow traffic on left and a drag on the right and the traffic lights get you on your way.I've got the photo's of the other cars on phone just messed up the download --think i forgot to save and it went to outlook s/where

--warlord i forgot a few things --- no1: I would not run the zx6 like mine cos the t/b works like this --t/b to manifold is round and air intake side oval-- no problem BUT when you want to fit velocity stacks they are hard to get unless you going to use k+n filters or s/body can make stacks for you --why did i use it? well i was on one of those usa sites where they race the cars with bike engines[like our hotrods]and they are keen to help --explained the setup and they also remove the butterfly which i also done --starts bit hard but once warm it's great. runs better than my Uno turbo welll almost--nose lifts when i floor it and thats just base map--just have not had time to finish cos of some private business but will get there. Oh yes no need for mega expensive fuel pump-- use combi fuel pump the exit is almost as thick as your thumb and it works great. If i was you i would go for hayabusa t/b-- i think they are 42mm-- i used bicycle brake cable for acc cable just filed the round ball down slightly and on other side weld round bar to pedal arm with hole and allan key screw to secure cable.I think i need longer cable though cos slightly sticky-- more tests and should be ok.g/luck

warlord where are you in the RSA --- JHB or CT. i'm in CT and running s/thing in the same line.I use bike t/bodies 38mm zx6 with zx10 injectors and pushing close to 100kw and thats base map at dynotech brackenfell-- thats was till the diff turned -- I forgot to do some welding. There's loads of room for improvement on my motor and it's not a gx head --had my intake made and they can be better.Oh dont get t/bodies in RSA unless you got contacts cos they will rip you off -- I got mine uk ebay 58 or 60 pounds a time back --was approx 600-700 rand --injectors i got from bike racer/tuner danie maritz. if in cape town you can check my setup and see where you can improve --believe me there is lots of room for improvement-- reo at headmaster did my motor and no complaints --

Yeah D those mani's are ok and this chap known as Rowlie used to be quite involved in racing and still does tuning and repairs etc. His w/shop is just behind Schus Nissan in Parow cape town about 12 to 13k's from me. Racetech or kulula should be able to give you a better idea of what the products are like.Prices are good for Oz & USA cos at 9 & 10 rand to a dollar it's ok.Freight is a bugger though. I am still waiting for s/one from Ozto visit Cape town so that i can send dattodoctor his GX hubcaps because of the freight prices

hi I have 38mm zx6 t/b with zx10 injectors and i have only had a base map done and got close to 100kw [96some odd] so with proper tuning could possibly be over 100 and they were s/hand from one of our top bike racers here [danie maritz]. I looked for the specs but the bike inj specs are not so freely available. The setup ; ali tank,VW kombi fuel pump with exit side almost as thick as your thumb [normal fingers lol] then to rail then fuel pre reg[adjustable]then return pipe to tank.Gotech ecu, hall type dizzy.Iwas going to race but change of mind & now taking it back to road to get real use.OH big thing--- remember the argument about the v/stacks -- D and L18 B110 well I had a problem my t/bodies are round and oval on the v/stack side ---so why that? well i read an article about airflow and petrol mixture with the oval intake AND i went onto one of the American race sites [chaps race the hotrods with bike engines and they are keen to help]They have a chap to answer fueling, suspension, elec, etc etc.they told me to get rid of the b/fly cos that thing wants to breathe and thats what they do -- so took a chance and it's ok. now back to the v/stacks --as i said they oval so what now --well who says drinking and driving dont go together --they do -- i took 4 of the round s/steel drinking cups [for camping],checked specs for lengths cutthe bottoms off and bobs your uncle v/stack. they are round but if you squeeze it when fitting they are oval. Only one prob i had it cut and chap says he had to put wood inside cos s/s is so thin and make your own lip. SOooo no more drinking only one gas guzzling datto. I actually left my car for more than a year now cos gotta provide for rainy day so busy with prop deal[no2]Well thats it i think it's ok & the gotech or any ecu should work if installed CORRECTLY. I was told not gotech --let me tell you i've done way out things and the ecu is ok.Prossie and mechie both earn money on their backs lol.

OK don't think it's me to argue cos as you have seen i read all build posts and have never given comment about any build cos i feel the builder can do whatever he wants AND as i noted I quite like his ''different'' A series.I don't even comment when s/body posts s/thing thats old news[seen before] cos maybe there's s/one that has'nt seen it.The only reason for this post was---reading material for members.Don't think the maz/dat dude is going to be upset and if he is this is for him '' dude no harm intended your motor looks great and as i said i quite like it --please don't make ANY ASSUMPTIONS it LOOKS great and i applaud you [build one for me while you about it] and don't give D any info cos he's just plain nasty dissing me when all i wanted to do was give the chaps s/thing to read at night-- i hate logging in and not having anything to read-- this is also the reason that JMAC is THE GUY cos he writes long essay's and i get to read about all his exp. cheers calling it quits lol
