dude you should invest in a magnet. You can buy one of those goodies that looks like a screwdriver and pulls out like a radio aerial they are very handy. I'm sure it would have worked through the sump hole.Anyway you have got it done.Goodluck with the rest.

DD -- ok yes i forgot to say -- it's 38mm t/bodies from zx6 kawa and zx10 injectors with the vw fuel pump and as for the use of the reg like it is well no i have not cos as i've said i suspect i have damaged the diaphragm. The second ans i got was also s/thing i heard---that the vacuum pipe reg the pressure. This is precisely why i'm asking. Why do some say fit pipe and others say you can leave it open.Is it a case of regulating on top and have the pressure lower with vacuum pipe allowing for adjustment.how you gonna know what pressure is safe to run at?Rgrinder yea i realise it's buggered now but it was new and work perfectly---pressure was prob to high-- suppose i'll have to get anew one--reckon no parts for the universals

I have a universal fuel reg with gauge with in and out and then the small vacuum pipe. All is connected except for the vacuum pipe.NOW can this cause probs or do i have to drill and fit pipe to manifold.does it cause a jerk when you put foot etc, etc. google shows a bit but there are also others that show you can leave it open. I already have a prob with petrol flowing out vac pipe so i suspect pressure was to high and i damaged the diaphragm. I also read pressure should be 40--43psi.Can anybody with know how give a bit of info. thanks

Trimmer i know what you mean when you talk about ''unsung 1200'' cos we had the same in South Africa-- nobody wants to be beaten by a little old 1200 so people never talk about it. I have a little fiat uno turbo 1400 and give many a bmw a go [straight line only cant corner]and that p..ss them off. Anyway back to the datto's--- here in RSA we used to have the Wynns 1000[1000km] and castrol 9 hour endurance and DATSUN really cheesed a lot of people off with their results. To check some of this just type this in and read 'george santana in datsun 1200 wins wynns 1000'-- You can also see where the 140z and 160z came from in rsa. cheers

Geez you boy's have been in the news quite a bit. First Shane Warne on the pitch-- makes the game interesting and we enjoy it, then a joey on the loose in a car park and police and security trying to corner it ---man if that happened in south africa they[police] would all be dead--all useless over-weight they would prob have a heart attack. latest now is the fires -- just wondering is the as result of the heat [40's] or is it negligence --look those fires are bad--hope you chaps living in those areas are safe.Anyway keep Warnie ticking over the roo's where they should be and prevent the fires

Chappie [smurf] i really think you should just carry on --- no matter what anyone has to say after-all you gonna drive the vehicle -- It's actually simple-- take advice you like and drop that which you don't --- don't let anyone get under your skin ---anyway all the best with your build ---was at the drags watching a ute [same 4g63] and thinking about yours and how it would fair -- e/thing of the best
