geez peter i spoke about this a while back [joking].We would like to see you here in south africa [with your car]only thing is the most datsuns here race in historics ---the other group is clubmans. In cape town the Richards bros race datsuns & racetech [on this site] has to do with the witzenberg club and in east london rezlo [also on this site]I'm sure they will look after you here.Richards bros also have a site the Mighty Datsuns.Maybe you should compete in the USA and the top two come over and the aussies do the same --maybe collect at the races and ask the other countries to help --thats if our disneyland money helps ---great idea anyway

well here is s/thing i'd like to do.Uno turbo [1400] motor in the front of a 1200 datsun. if only i can figure out how to do the set-up. I want engine in front but rwd. I know there is an awd uno running around but what they used is a mystery. this will be a great set-up --approx 200kg lighter and the engine is bullet proof [now has 400000k's]short distance it gives a M3 a hard time at more or less standard.motor just needs a refresh & a 1200 body and it's a for away.SOOoo it's awd gearbox or a damn box which turns in opposite direction LOL.Unless one of the bright sparks can come up with a better idea

I was scratching around looking for that elusive 200hp e/body talks about when i saw that nissan has s/thing new in mind to compete with the 86 of toyota and the brz subie ------nissan mini Z ---same shape but smaller --- fwd AND yes and awd -- 1600 and 190hp ---less than the toyota & subie but more torque---so they say --- so for those looking for a better option for the 1200-- here it is. LOL standard 190hp imagine that--with a touch here & there and awd --the skies the limit

I had a look at the post of D [orange 1200] and i really like the rims but cant find it on the watanbe site.I like the rims that are deep in -- you are then left with only a bit of body problems. anybody got an idea or where to buy that or similar

darrenwilson i think you have asked a question that only one or two will be able to answer. Only a few know what it really looks like [ay12 head].With regards to the HP i reckon 200 is possible. check out the site Take-off --their small cappucino makes s/where around 200.

first of all got apologize for the short sentences but that's cos i'm expecting the comp to give me hassles. PEPPER; yeah just got a nice 350z subie blue with uni-chip nice exh system k&n filter and 55k on the clocks. i was looking at a 260z, a not & bolt rebuild job --was going for 100k but chap changed his mind-- so dipped out big time. 260z & 240z dats are scarce in south africa.there's prob more 140z& 160z cars here.i was about to buy a 2 door sedan but the seller had lots of tricks up his sleeve so left it.Sometimes i wish we could have a jap day / datsun with a lot [5] racers from oz ,nz and usa 5 each maybe a race or two thats with cars in RSA --we cant afford to go to other countries so we gotta invite them here--our money they use in disney land. So s/thing to think about chaps pack them cars in containers and hop on over u get a lot for ur dollar here.

utJUST GIVING credit.I read a lot of the club info and there are a lot of chaps that do some fine things & then minor a-holes like the ls2 dude. One day when u lose a chap like jmac or sikyne u will have to give him a send off with all the datto's in oz.Some of the chaps just go that extra mile eg. the cr motor, the cross-flow head story ok it might not be finished and maybe one day s/body will come up with s/thing.There are some great thinkers and people who share -- i can't say the same about m/self cos the comp kicks out and i give up.wanted to give info on t/bodies but comp keeps cutting me out.So thanks to e/body--all those that help & the great info.Always look forward to reading.Got a nissan 350z now but the datsun 1200 still tops
