Got it working.

I had missed that the engine plate was not really supposed to be there, so out it came. I still didn't get enough travel out of it, so I had two ideas. One was to cut a big fender washer I had to use as a spacer between the throw out bearing and the sleeve. That seemed like it would take forever with the tools I had on hand (Dremel). The one I went with was to remove the pivot ball and put a washer under it to move it forward a bit. Ended upwurking great. I'd still like to explore the sleeves more, but don't feel like spending the moolah on it. I'd like to physically see this shorter sleeve (5000), and the longer one as well (8560).

My bad on the 8670, I meant 8560 like shown in the picture you posted here. In that same pic is the 7500 that I have. I need that longer one. I cannot find that part number online anywhere. A shorter version than that 7500 is not shown anywhere in the wiki. ALL the references to this "standard" sleeve show dimensions that indicate it is the shorter of the two quotes sleeves. I believe that there is only two parts, that being a standard and a longer, not a shorter. I know people say there is one based on all the differences in combinations, but until someone can show in pictures a shorter sleeve than the 7500 I won't believe it. The evidence I see says the 30501-H7500 (and 30501-H1000 that it replaced) measures 21mm and in the pic with the part numbers on the bag, is the shorter of the two. None of the pictures show a part shorter than that one. Several references in the wiki with dimensions noted for the 7500 are wrong, and by extension all become suspect.

And to repeat my setup as I posted before, I am running an A12 withe a 28mm flywheel (standard A12 flywheel), engine plate (not dust shield), and a 60A five speed. I have not measured the distance on the ball stud. I'm at work so I can't right now. When it was all in the car the bearing would not even touch the pressure plate, so I need a longer sleeve.

I'm not trying to offend anyone who gave input to the wiki, but something ain't right. I was just hoping someone had better info. I guess I'm going to have to order a 30501-H5000 and see if it is indeed shorter as the wiki says or is actually longer like I believe it will be.

I have the short one and it does not work. That picture is laughable. It shows the short version by dimension matching mine but that part number is wrong. That one (on the left) is the size of the 30501-H1000/H7500. Further the part to the right in the picture is of a sleeve that someone has extended. That is the part number I have but the dimension is not correct for the part number, though that is the length I need.

Mine measures 21mm. Part number is 50501-H7500. Just arrived today from dealer, part number on the bag. So that is pretty much the shorter part in the picture, but according to the wiki, the standard length. I believe the two lengths must be standard and long. All the info on the wiki points that way.. My 1200 had the standard 4 speed, 28mm clutch and the engine plate along with the shorter sleeve.

To further muddy these waters that seem to be a source of confusion to many it seems. The tech wiki section on release bearing carriers is very poorly written and has grave errors (no offense to the authors, I think they did the best they could with the info they had). On my brand new out of the bag 30501-H7500 (same as 30501-H1000 according to dealer), the measurements very closely match what is shown as a 30501-H5000 in a couple places on the wiki. The wiki mentions a standard and a short version. What I have is the standard, which should mean there is a long version, not a short version. There is also a 30501-H8670 on the wiki, even a picture with the part number on the bag, but searching dealer sites comes up empty on that number. Not NLA but nothing. I know someone here must have some parts in their stash they can measure. Sure like to get my coupe back on the road.

I'm in the middle of a 60A five speed swap into my 73 coupe. I have had it installed but I had to pull it out because the clutch would not disengage. I have what I believe is the standard clutch sleeve according to the wiki info. I need the longer one, but the wiki is very unclear on the part number I need. Near the bottom they list a standard and a short version. I have three standards, pn 30501-H7500 which superseded 30501-H1000. I ordered a new one from the dealer thinking it was the longer but nope. I don't want to just guess on this (again). I think I need 30501-H5000, but hope someone can confirm. Anyone have a long version laying around? Please help!

My four speed is stuck in fourth gear, so I'm looking at swapping a five speed in. A guy near me in Houston Texas has a 63 series for an A14 that I can get for a reasonable price. From looking at the wiki it looks like I need a different drive shaft. I'm seeing it mentioned that the 63 series is shorter than the 56 and 60 series boxes. Will the shaft yoke still slide on? If so I could get mine lengthened. I won't be able to find an auto shaft around here. Also the clutch fork comes out the right side by the starter, while mine is on the left. Could I just run a longer hydraulic line? I know I'll have to fab a mount, but if my driveshaft won't fit then I won't buy it. Could someone in the know fill me in?

Going into a U.S. Market 73 coupe.

you mention cut ups. I'm looking for a rear panel. the part between the rear corners that holds the tail lights. Sometimes called a beaver tail. This would be for a 73 1200 coupe. Can't find new anywhere. Cant even find used in wrecker here in the states. likely cost heaps to ship but maybe I'd look into it if you have one.
