Hi, I have been reading lot of info available on the forums but still have some question. I am fitting a CA18det in my ute. I have the engine with i got from a member on this site but looking to get a gear box to suit.
1. For a ute the stumpy gearbox converstion is the simplest to fit but the stumpy box is very hard to find. The tunnel need to be massaged for it to fit. Which area/areas do I need to massage....
2. The Gazzelle or S3 Bluebird gear box will bolt up to the CA18. I know these are not stronge boxes but where does the gear stick pop up. Does the tunnel need to modified.
3. The S13 gear box is there a big difference in turbo and non turbo and how do I tell the difference between the two. The tunnel needs to modified but is it only where the selector is.
I have read that people have massage S13 gear box tunnel to fit the S13 gear box.
The engine is going to be stock. I am not after a 10 second dato, just something I can have fun with.
As much help would be good.
Thanks ... Mac

Thanks, that would be good. Getting ready for a CA converstion and all the information will help make it an easy converstion (in theory with finger crossed).

Hi, does anyone have a copy of the CA18DET into 1200 Wiring Diagram that was done by chris (shoeys) as the link is down.
There was also a template for making engine mounts to go onto 1200 crossmember. If anyone has a copy of that it would help me a lot.
Thanks heaps ...... Mac

Hi, found out the vibration at 100 km is due to a buckled rim. Worth an ask, I am after a TRX rim to replace this one. If some one has one or a set at let me know. I do not need tyre just a straight rim.
PM me with contact details, would like to pick it up asap.
Thanks.... Mac

Bit confused, from the brake and suspension swap information it say, the ball joints are different between the 1200 and sunny/stanza. From my understanding the ball joint taper taper is different.
Any thought will be of great help.

Hi , I am new to the site. I purchased a 1200 ute (always wanted one) and read up on the upgrades.
My question is there any way of upgrading without pushing out the front wheel closer to the guard because of the ball joint. Is there any way of modifying the lower control arm (perhaps oval the holes).
Lastly with the upgrade is there any issues with wheel alignment because the front is out 15mm compared to the back.
Thank in advance.
PS: the information on the site is great for a new person like me.
