had a friend with a b11 sunny that was that color that we called the skittle
had a worked A15 in it (fwd) with drafts etc, was a real looker too, had no tint and light grey interior with alloy wheels, nice color combo on that car when it was done, dunno how the sedan will look :P

as a sedan owner myself, welcome!

ca18de head with a custom built distributor (gotta use the input shaft from the ca cam sensor adapted to a custom dizzy)
I have also read about ppl using a sigma dizzy that spins the other way..

for some this is a cheap solution, if they have the parts lying around, and can do most/all the work them selves

and some ppl (like me) like a challenge and doing things that aren't easy..

here is my post asking about it a few months back when i wanted to do the same thing (and i may still do it :P)
http://datsun1200.com/modules/newbb/v ... id=352808#forumpost352808

i ater read that in this photo, the guy unplugged the injectors and ran the car with the webbers an no AFM, but he used something to eliminate the AFM and this was in japan, and the part was not mentioned in the thread.

i built a CA19DET years ago.. JE Pistons 84mm 8.5:1 CR, Crower Rods, Tomei 260 ProCams/Springs/Cam Gears, Turbonetics T3/T04E, Haltech, 550cc injectors, twin walbros... you name it, it had it.. dynoed at 260whp@ 10psi when we tuned it on the dynojet, probably over 340 i reckon at 20psi as I ran it eventually on the road after breaking in.. almost a year later, an injector clip wasnt put back on after fiddling and the engine went caputz when the plug popped out, a piston melted..

looking back on this bring back NICE memories :)

first time i drove it from the shop back to my office
http://www.bezman.com/ca19det/ca19_startup.WMV

I simply took my stock DET block (that was over 20 years old, never rebuilt, just slapped on the new oil pup i had from the other engine), and put it back in my silvia with all the parts, reduced the timing and ran 14psi and the stock pistons and rods took it, i am guessing this was about 280whp or so..

after my custom turbo mani cracked a few times, i found a greddy one and cut off the turbo flange and welded on a t3 flange and used my T304E as a bottom mount ;)

I never rebuilt the CA19 block and sold the car with all the spares, the guy rebuilt the CA19 and made more power with a different turbo.

I have a CA18 in my 1200 sedan, and will start tweaking it soon once i am done sorting out all the suspension and driveline issues :P Go the CA!!

here is one of many ToyoBusa's (Starlet / Hayabusa)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afLBp_3Md-A&feature=related

its using the stock Hayabusa gearbox with a vr4 drive shaft on the drive sprocket and going to a toyota gearbox with only 4th gear and reverse.. so you leave it in 4th and shift with the busa box and then put it in neutral with the busa box and then engage reverse with the toyota box, genius!

i have been researching this allot

easy way to get reverse... add large electric starter motor from diesel truck to gear welded to rear drive shaft, been done...

hard way, remove the hayabusa gears from the gear box housing, create a custom output shaft to go into any rwd gearbox you want.. http://www.motoiq.com/magazine_articl ... hell-we-are-thinking.aspx

i have seen 600hp hayabusa engines (turbo charged)

the main thing is from what i have read, the hayabusa clutch is a reduced ratio clutch (6:1 or something), so you gotta replace it with one that is:

a) strong enough to handle the increased weight
b) one that doesnt have a reduction ratio

I am interested to see this thing actually run flat out, make some hard launched and skids.. before i get my hopes up, but some guys with MK1 golfs and Lotus 7's etc use this swap allot with great results..

sorry if this is a repost, but thought it was cool and everyone would appreciate. I am really thinking about this swap, patiently waiting to see if the drive shaft from the busa gearbox holds up or if the busa gearbox explodes with the added weight. sounds AWESOME
