It is a direct drive 60 series, despite what you may have read on the interweb.

I have removed this from a car that I sold and am now selling it. Was fine when the car was parked about two years ago. I had it inspected before I installed it and probably did around 10000k's on it.
Its direct fifth, so no overdrive, good for rallying or similar.
I originally bought it from a guy who had it in a Morris 1000, so to fit it into the car they cut a small hole in the bell housing. The hole doesn't affect the box in any way and has been plated up.

It has an A15 and 5 speed, 1:1 5th, four wheel discs, fronts are magna and rears are skyline, koni / bilstein suspension, extractors, 32/36 weber, bluebird dizzy, newish paint, no rust, H4 headlights, sports system.
I bought the car from the original owner with low miles on it.

I have seen a 1000 registered with an A14 in it so I suppose it really depends on who you get on the day. That car still had drums all round!
Technically it needs to be engineered, but I would probably just whack an A12 in it for registration and then put the a15 back in.
Or you could just restamp it. Not that I would condone any illegal activity. Never. Not at all.

Seriously this car needs to go, so if you are a 1000 fanatic I am negotioable on price.
Did I mention it has a 32/36 weber on it? It goes pretty damn hard for a 40 year old car.
