thanks for the huge input learning abit about these now!

Firstly Carbys have to be standard im affraid practically everything But ive been told there are diff A12 datsun motors that are better IE: Ive been told the A12 with the M2 marking on it has a lighter crankshaft or something like that so thats what im trying to find out now...

If there are motors that have better parts in them than others...but cant be performance models...

PS The Datsuns are more comen than the toyotas down these ways the datsuns are blisting the toyota I think my motor had 45kw on the dyno if that makes sence????

also this is in our rules..

Donor cars are Datsun 1200, Datsun 120Y and Sunny
1200cc using A12 engine, or Toyota Corolla using
1200cc 3K engine, no SSS GT or performance model
cars or parts

so does this mean I can not use the GX motor? as its a performance model?

You dont have msn by anychance so we can talk on this issue a bit better?

thanks Spence but we have to run the standard carbs its part of the rules over here :( Were would I be able to purchase a GX head??? Im guessing they wouldnt be illegal if they work with a normal a12 motor and come standard?

Ok so I have found out the GX is the best motor to get but...Can u run the standard Card setup on that motor? im looking through on the wiki but cant find the awnsers il keep looking but info would be appreciated

Im new to this site but would like to find out info about the Datsun A12 motors...

Over in NZ I race a Mini stockcar which we all run either Datsun 1200s or 120ys or a toyota...

Its getting really competitive now and Id like to find an possible advantage to get over the others....

Whats the difference between all the other 1200 engines........??

The one im running atm is a datsun 120y It has markings M2 and m22 on it and I have a M2 M79 one aswell.......

We arnt allowed to do much to the engines as it is suppose to be a budget start out class but any ideas are welcome...anything that can help make the car perform better..

has to be normal carbies and all..so if anyone on here knows if diffrent blocks heads or cams are better than the others could you please send me a pm or reply in here cheers
