Hi,

I have a B122 ute with an SR20DET.

Has a FMIC, HKS Pod/intake kit, 3inch exhaust with Xforce dp, HKS arm stoppers, boost/speed cut. Motor/Turbo is stock and running wastegate pressure.

We have an airstrip here which is being used for the drags. Its not as sticky as an actual track and there is no burnout pad.The strip also has a little bit of loose gravel. Best time on the strip is around 9 seconds from an actual drag car. Im from Fiji.

I would like to take the ute to the strip and see what times i get. Will be installing a mini spool this week.

I'm thinking of getting either NT01's or R888's.Need some advise and opinion on which tyre would be better suited for the conditions here or do i just run with the current Hankook Ventus HR2(225/50/15's)

I would like to do a run with the standard setup and then work my way up.

Do you think i will be wasting my time with the Hankook's since i will be locking the diff or do you think semi slicks would be over kill?

Yeah but good idea to replace it anyway especially if its old.

When did the problem start?

Is there a metallic/grinding sound when it starts? If not, then the ring gear on the flywheel is ok and so is the pinion gear on the starter and don't think it could be an alignment issue.

Next time it clicks, get someone to knock the start motor body (not solenoid) and see if it starts straight away. If it does the its the brushes.Best bet would be to remove the starter and get it serviced or replace it.

Hope it helps.

Could be starter brushes as well.

Is the battery a maintenance free type or the cells can be inspected?

Hi Guys,

Is anyone on here running caltracks or traction bars? Need some help with installation.

Are there any issues with running these at the rear end of the spring?

Thanks.

Hi Guys,

The dashboard on my Ute has a few cracks on the top but overall its not too bad. I would like to fix up the cracks and paint the dash in black but not really sure how to go about it. Appreciate if someone can give me a few ideas on repairing and painting..mostly need to know what materials i should be using. I am located in Fiji and there are no restorations shops here but i can get most items from Australia within a few days which is pretty handy.

Thanks.
