Hi all, I have a mk1 golf front lip that I no longer need. It's the two piece type and is brand new as I sold my car prior to fitting it. I think from memory I paid about $100 so i'll start by asking for that. Give me a buzz on 0402419127 if your keen. I'm in sydney but am happy to post.

I have 4.33 with mine and 1st is pretty useless most of the time. I'll be looking for 3.9 if and when I rebuild. I have 205/40/16 tyres and sit almost right on 3000rpm at 100km/h in 5th so top speed of 220kmh is probably the maximum possible mathematically. Iv'e never gotten close enough to find out.

Thought i'd chime in here as I used to own a corvette.
There is NO WAY you could use a vette spring, it is all wrong dimentionally and in design principle due to it been used transversally. I'm sure you could make anything work with enough of the right skills and knowledge. But these springs are actually allot more complicated than just some fibreglass layed in the shape of a spring. They are a complex and diverse mix and lay of a number of composite materials/resins and features.
Trust me, it would be easier or at least no extra work to have them custom made.
If you want to know more. your best bet is to try Vette brakes and products in the states. They make custom springs for certain Vette applications, however I think you would find they would be either unable to help you in this circumstance or the cost WILL scare you away.

Things iv'e learnt in the last month are:
This is a common problem. S13 boxes which is what most ca18 boxes are, are known for this. Nissan changed the box for the S14 to rectify this by modifying the seperator plate to restrict some of the oil flow to the rear of the box under hard driving. So if you need to replace your box in future, find sn S14 box from an SR20 and change the bell housing (swaps straight over). When you have the box apart you can see how they've changed the plate, and added a few other small oil features. As mentioned above, I used a CV boot and it works fine with a full box, I made sure it was zip tied very tightly though. My breather is clear also. Also worth a mention that my motor/box is on slightly more of an angle than most conversions so it is solvable.
And in regards to the oil drain from the rocker, NO you can't remove it. Another common problem these motors have under hard driving/extended high RPM is oil build up in the head as it pumps up faster than it drains, even with that line there. People who build these motors for extended high RPMs actually modify the head or add extra lines behind the head where the two welsch plugs are.

Thats IT!!
Thanks people. Does anyone have any experience ordering from japan, I wouldn't have a clue what it's even called looking at all those strange squiggles that exist where words should be. I guess i'll just email them and see what comes back. Guess i'll have a mk1 golf lip for sale soon.

I don't think it's a MK2 gti lip. Iv'e tried searching all over ebay, google images etc and can't find any mk2 golf gti that has a lip anyhting like that. Look at some pics closely and I think you'll see multiple differences. On another note. I know eveyone fits mk1 golf lips and I have one but it just doesn't follow the curve of the front of the car. And if you push the two halves in closer to the front panel to follow the curve, the two pieces obviously seperate in the middle. Can anyone say how they fitted theirs, what mods did you make etc. My car's metal is in great origional shape and I conceed modifying the spoiler would work but everyone seems to say they bolt straight up. Can anyone who HAS fitted one comment?
