I can't remember how I did it, but I had to utilise both the neural cut-out wires to make my reverse lights work, and stumbled on a great immobiliser that was so simple and idiotic, it worked! Basically, mine would not engage the starter motor unless the car was in reverse. Simples!!

My 140Y GX in her prime, before I rolled her and she became the sad and neglected wreck seen in the pics here somewhere.

There's another one coming up Nige, 28/12 at the Midvale Speed Dome. I'm mulling over taking the Wag, perhaps a Datsun lineup could be organised?

I always thought it was the most tragic twist of irony, that the car our Brock was killed in was a replica of the vehicle designed and built by the U.S. Brock (in conjunction with Carrol Shelby).

Very droll, Neil!
If I had a dollar every time someone uttered this phrase...
I would bellow such a guffaw if a perspective buyer silently dropped one of these on my desk at work. And better yet, I have a pencil that is about an inch long, but still survives, that I could silently drop next to the sharpener as my silent retort!

It might just be your pads moving inside the caliper cradle. When you're moving forward, the pads are against the forward-most part of the cradle. When brakes are applied in reverse, the pads move in the direction of the rotor, making them to move about 1-3mm towards the opposite side of the cradle, thus causing a "clunk" when the pads make contact with the cradle.

Kudos to you Mik! Without people willing to get into motorsport at grass-roots level, motorsports cannot exist.
I did flag marshalling at Barbagallo Raceway for a few years and loved it. Apart from the competitors, flaggies are closer to the action than any other official. I got involved and passed my CAMS accreditation via the local flag marshallers association and had "on the job" training with a senior flaggie. I'm pretty sure that goes for all officials at a meet too.
If I can give one piece of advice: Be vocally intorerant to intra-association politic bullshit. I wish I was, cos it's what killed my passion for it. Nothing worse than factions forming within a club or association, that gets to the point of killing the fun of a meet.
Oh, and reconsider if you're thinking of doing scruitineering. Then again, you are used to being a pariah... lol!
