Not sure if this would result in your symptoms, but I just had a 60a 5-speed installed behind my a12 in my ute - We needed to use a combination of the different clutch, flywheel and throw out bearing from the a14 and the a12. (Luckily I have an a14 ready to go in soon) The gap between them was too great for the clutch to disengage fully using the a12 flywheel/clutch combo, and then needed the shorter bearing carrier - maybe your clutch isn't engaging properly?
Especially since you said you can free-rev it easily??

Hi, sorry been away - sent you a PM - can organise this weekend for you - it's bubble wrapped/boxed ready to go.

Here's a photo from before I pulled it out. It's blue/grey, usual hole cut out for a stereo and all complete. Was working when removed.

I have a box I can mail it easily - or I am flying to Brisbane/Gold Coast tomorrow night for the weekend, but I don't think it'll pass as carry on.

Wont come with any of the switches etc, just the facia you need yeah?

A rectangular MPH dash facia? I have one I pulled out of my ute. Also an old indicator switch, but the self cancelling parts are broken, so could just throw that in probably

Definitely fender, but get ones designed for fender fitment, not door fitment.

Hi, How much are you looking at for the standard a14? and I'd need to ship to North Qld

Hi all....
I did the square facia to round dash facia swap this weekend. I have the Tacho and all lights working .
But no SPEEDO
I have checked the cable and it is fine at both ends
Symptoms;
1) The needle sits LOWER than Zero km/h As in all the other (and my other) speedo needles seem to sit on Zero
2) The needle doesn't move at all - it doesn't twitch or jump
3) when spun backwards with the drill it seems to wind backwards

IS the speedo 'unwound' as in has it gone around 1x time already and wont wind further?
OR is there an electrical problem

I suspected the Speed Amplifier that no one knows what/how/why it's for. I have it wired as per the pictures in Techwiki
-red out of tacho conenected to black out of speed amplifier
-black out of speed amplifier to circuit board of dash
-green unused
I thought I'd try a few different combinations of these wires. DO NOT connect green and red without black. - smoke comes out of the speed amplifier!

Any suggestions as to my drama and how to fix appreciated
