ddgonzal if I stayed in the states I would've bought you a couple of beers for all the advice your giving me, thanks alot I apprciate it big time.

Well here in south africa the gov. isn't very strict regarding regulations for the vehicle modifications and so on, unless I don't know about it. as far as I know I can fit a V8 in there and they won't have a problem... lol

thanks again for the advice I'm gonna see what I can get here now, it should'nt be too expensive. when I get the engine and stuff I'm gonna start a build threat.

Thanks for the help guys

I would like to keep the parts in the nissan family, what concerns me about the 2.4litre engine is that its a truck engine so I'm not sure how the engine will ref or be on the quater mile. I see the SR20DET engine looks quite good, even the non turbo one. but my option are open

LOL I bought the car like this, stil the original paint on there.
well I want to go full house with the vehicle, New motor just not sure which one. I checked on the forum that the people like to use the C18DET engine with gearbox, but I'm also considering the Nissan Hardbody 2.4 engine... I'm not sure yet what to do there.
I want to do suspension, interior and repaint.
but there is still a long road to go still...

Hey thanks ddzgonzal, I came right with the resizing of the images.

Pardon the poor quality it's cellphone pics.
These pics were taken right after I fitted the new wheels, theyre 13x7 mini-lites with 205 tires on.

at first I just wanted to restore my Datsun but after I found this site I'm going the whole nine yards .
I'm gonna start a build threat with this baby.

Here's the pics

Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum, all the way from South Africa. Looks like I'm gonna learn alot here.
I currently own a 1972 Datsun 1200 GX coupe still building up, still busy fixing the mechanical parts before making nice.

I'll post some pics of the Datsun later.

Thanks
