going to waste

i don't want this to sound like a story,
i mentioned i had a datto to my boss yesterday at work, the boss then went on to say "my brother and i have a few, do you want to go see" i went out to their property , they have a 1200 wagon in a paddock rusted down almost un-recognizable,, i asked how long it had been here an he said, "it was our paddock basher for a few years but then we needed the parts", i seen photos of when they got it and it was mint, then to see what they had done, disgusted
they also have two 1000 sedans just rusting away, a shell of a 1200 ute and my bosses old 1200 sedan just going to waste, the only model they didn't have was a coupe

we then went into his shed, out of the 1200 sedan was the engine on its side on the ground, it is an efi turbo A series with genuine manifold setup with all the goodies (A14), then we went to a cupboard in the back corner, in there are 2 blow through turbo setups each with a 40mm webber , everything i had seen had just been neglected , there are so many usable goodies there! he wouldn't evan sell any of it, not a single bolt
it actually makes me sick meeting people like this

has anyone else met people like this?

How would I machine it down? A lathe? If I machine it down will this affect how the car steers at all? Will it be noticeable ?

I have been meaning to do so with the eye bushes but I am replacing the standard ute leafs with 1200 sedan leaf springs, where can I get new bushes from?
Cheers

I have known about this issue for a while now, the pevious owner must have been in a minor front ender , when he had it repaired , they must have missed some damage, on the front passenger side, the wheel is sitting about 30mm back compared to the drivers side , I done some investigating and found that the bracket On the chassis end of the caster bar is actually bent out of shape like its been pushed back, it still drives fine and tire wear is minimal , but it is annoying the hell out of me now , is there any way at all that this can be fixed ? (1200 ute )
Any help appreciated , cheers

it was the head gasket but still doesn't explain over heating,

i replaced everything, flushed the radiator and now its running better then ever and not overheating , i have no idea why it overheated in the first place

cheers

It started to over heat while driving, I took the thermostat out and run it for half hour and it was great, then just now driving to work I notice its starting to run hot again, (no thermostat) get to work an it's just pissing out smoke and steam from the exhaust, It won't start at all now , the water was flowing great last night, so I don't think there will be a blockage? , can someone give me an explanation that's not worst case scenario . I'm honoring I haven't damaged the head or gasket , I wasent driving it hard either
