If I keep my foot on the gas it goes down to 4k rpm and doesn't want to pull, like i hit a wall..Im definitely going to check the fuel pressure..its still running on a mechanical pump..the fuel filter looks rather new..How do I check the mechanical pump for faults? Is there mabye a diaphragm that can tear?

Hi everybody,

I just bought myself a datsun gx, but it has a small problem, it doesn't seem to want to go past 5k rpm and then she bogs down, i tuned the carbs, synch, float level..and set the timing 7 degrees btdc..but still the same problem..could it be that it isn't getting enough fuel? Mechanical problem? Timing?

I would much appreciate some advice on this matter
