Ok. So I've found the flares I want to run in the ute, only problem now is sourcing one out.

Can anyone tell me where I could possibly get my hands on a set? Also need the front spoiler. It doesn't have to be the exact one but something close to it.

Dellorto makes many carburetors. The DHLA 40 works best on the A12. Carburetors that work just as well include Weber DCOE 40 and Mikuni/Solex PHH 40. Nismo sold PHH 40s.

Next best is Hitachi twin sidedraughts.

Many 1200 owners are happy with the Weber 32/36.

For best fuel economy and smoothness, the stock Hitachi 306 is best.

On a slight off topic, besides the dellorto which carby do people find better to run with the A12?

Sorry for the dumbness but when you said "there is no need to make the A12 mild" are you referring to cams,piston etc... or you mean the carby itself will be fine for a cruiser?

Haven't exactly decided which way I want to go as far as motors. Initially I had planned a CA conversion (11/12sec 1/4m) but looking at it, it's a complete car and running condition (was a daily for a year) is good, so now i'm leaning towards keeping it original but work the A12 or alternately A14. Either way, it'll be carby.

it's dead stock. I'm starting to collect parts and I came across a 45. I think twin 40's would be the go instead. Thinking of making it mild as it will be more of a cruiser.

It's a stock motor but i'm planning on working it slightly. Not sure which way to go about it but a 45 was offered to me at a reasonable price. Quote:

Is your A12 stock standard or modified (gx head? Race camshaft? Etc...)

I have seen a single 45 used frequently on A12 race motors.
