thanks!
Its a very slow build at the moment as time and funds are against me.
But once summer comes everything should start moving along

got a bit of spare time to myself for once so knocked up this trolley with a combination of 30mm and 50mm rhs, and some special masters caster wheels.
it moves smoothly and finally allows me to get it blasted (and clean the shed a bit)

i got to stripping her down once i got some time off work.
There isn't much to these cars and tear down is a breeze really.
Just a few chrome trims and headlining and then shes off to the blasters.
uncovered a few areas of rust that will need major attention, but will be a lot easier in primed state.

hi all.

I decided id start a build thread on here.
So i was on the look out out for a datsun to restore, and also lightly mod for a bit more comfort/power. I went and looked at a few 1200 utes and a few 1600's. Being put off by terminal rust or poor attempts at repairs.
Then a friend of mine passed on the details of a guy selling an unregistered but running 1200 ute.

To my surprise this was what greeted me when i arrived to look at it.

By the give away of the 5 tray hooks on the back it was a long wheel base, which are reasonably rare (especially in perth), and are a jap import in Australia.

So i checked it up and down, it had more rust then i was hoping for, but the interior was all there except for the carpet.

the tray was in horrible shape unfortunately.

Long story short i bought it and had it in my shed within a week.

The plans for it have changed so frequently its not funny. But as things stand now it will be getting.

-blasted and rust repair
-new tray floor and mini tubs
-bare metal respray
-new front end suspension and brakes. (Leaning towards s13 lca, hub, brakes coilover and r31 radius rods)
-lowered leafs and strut in rear
-shortened r31 diff with mini spool (or kaaz 2way if my wallet stretches)
-sr20de and det 5 speed. So a new trans tunnel is needed

Aesthetically it will be remaining almost the same. Only change being fender mirrors and a chin lip.

More has happened, but ill keep that for the next update.
