it depends on how much you want to drop it! the easiest way is to use lowering blocks (steel)(exaple 40or50mm) ,fit them on top of your slabs. make sure you drill holes in the blocks to sentre them, then fit the diff on top of the blocks. you have to extend the u-bolts or use longer ones. if you want to lower it even more you can bend the ends of the slabs with a blow torch, but then you have to modifiy you shock mounts. taking out a leaf will lower it a bit but your suspension will be up to ####! good luck!

at least there's one person that knows something about racing(tsillay). escorts suck, but they have some parts that work great on datsuns. fords have a wider range of diff ratios and larger rear brakes. ford rack and pinion steering work good on datsuns. i dont even whant to talk about cast iron heads v/s alu. etc. kents make more torque, but they can't rev and fords are heavier than datsuns. so if you are smart you will stick with a datsun and use some escort parts on it!

hey dude, i have bad news for a 79mm block, the walls are too thin on that bore and it's going to run to hot! what you can do is get a standard 76mm block and use mazda glx1500 pistons(78mm) whith kicks it up to 1547cc! if you can get the pistons over there, the part number is RT61014, good luck on your project!

sorry man ,i have to agree with mazda626 ,rather go with an a15. you can do a lot more than with the a12. i don't know what type of engines you guys get overseas, but an a15 with some mazda pistons work great!
