Well my two cents worth... I used to be a regular contributor to this site many years ago.
I got sick of keyboard critics who have never built nor raced a second in anger telling me/correcting me on builds i was doing, not only myself but others..

This site was built on by like minded contributors with the Datsun A series cars and interesting builds.

Many of the old school blokes just got sick of the keyboard google warriors doing nothing but saying everything..

For any of the older people on this site, I have built the 1725cc A14 using the E series crank, it sits in my workshop just waiting to be screwed together. As you get older life gets more in the way of building Datsun Motors, The Sunny rallycar has had a facelift and the 240RS rearend is fitted via a 5 link. hope to have it running next year.

It's a good bit of gear to look at, I have plenty of pics on my phone of it.
I'm running the same diff assembly in my sunny now, I based the 5 link on the same measurements as the 120Y, it uses a Watts link and I've gone for a panhard rod set up. Ive set my diff up 50mm back from standard same as the 120Y.

Sorry for the tease fella's... A nice gentleman came along and put a deposit down on a lot of the good bits.

I have posted some Sunny stuff on ebay this arvo which might interest some..

Just going through some stuff and I found a Datsun competition geared oil pump for the A-series which needs a repair. I have two main bodies (both which need repair) and one set of internals. Both main bodies can be repaired with a bit of machining. happy to sell as is.

Inbox me your phone number if interested and i'll send pics..

One A14 crank is the lightweight scalloped type $300

Text me for pics if genuinely interested 0438339537

Time to clear out some of my A-series parts I have lying around.

3 x GX heads, brief description below...

Head 1. Standard ports, standard head thickness with the 8 original valves. - sold.

Head 2. Standard ports, standard head thickness, slight damage to face that a light machine will fix, no valves. - sold

Head 3. Full reco head including new valve stems, slight clean up on the ports, has been face machined, has all 8 valves.

1 x 3 piece alloy flywheel, very lightweight (only a few kgs), suit standard pressure plate. - sold

1 x A15 crank - Sold.

1 x A14 crank

My old race bottom end - 1587cc, A15 lightened and balanced crank (probably photos on here somewhere) 78.5mm pistons, adjustable cam timing gear, rods, block, used cam, still assembled. selling in used condition.

PM for more details and prices and I will text you pics as required. Prefer to sell on here and not put on Ebay/Gumtree.

I'm going through all of my stuff over the next months or so and seeing what else I need to pass on, certainly have some interesting stuff...

Gary.

Shane, yes I suppose you can still buy them, It cost me $9K by the time I got it to Aus.
I bought it when the exchange rate was $1.04CAD.
Here's the link to his website, send him an email.

There are pictures of mine on my car club website.

D... not back, just passing through, I have some A series stuff I'll be selling soon so I thought I'd have a look and see if I could remember my password.
Forums I find are a huge waste of time.
